This chest piece is ideal for tanks and prot specs. Any warrior (or even paladin) could benefit from the increased parry so I wonder if this baby could sell well on PvP servers?

The graphic on this is a recolored version of the Dungeon Set 1 or 2 for warriors. The breastplate is very nice for a prot spec pally or warrior doing instances and should last you until you can make earthforged breastplate.

The Battlemaster's Breastplate (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=31720) from the Foot of the Citadel (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10876) quest for Horde is essentially the same thing and is free so long as you do the quest chain.

Both pieces have the same amount of STR, STA, and armor. This has the +21 Parry Rating, which is somewhere between 1-1.5% parry when you can equip it. The Battlemaster has +21 AGI, which is also between 1-1.5% dodge when you can equip it. Both give a little more than 1% avoidance, but the Battlemaster also adds to crit.

Edit:

Apparently Alliance can also get the Battlemaster piece for their quest chain, which seems to be quite a bit shorter than the Horde chain, ending with the quest Drill the Drillmaster (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10937).

This will come down to itemization. If you need the extra parry chance, get this item. If you need more dodge, go for the quest blue. I wouldn't discount this item just because you can get something comparable from a quest. There aren't many pieces at level 61 that can offer you this amount of parry chance.

You never need parry chance above dodge when tanking. You also never need strength while tanking. At early 60s you need defense above all to reach crit immunity (and stamina ofc), you can't afford to wear avoidance pieces.
So this item is totally useless for tanking imho, it may serve as a poor DPS breast choice for warriors (38 str is great).

This chest is terrible, 38 str, but on equip tanking stats?

Battlemaster's chest is way better (and you can get it at 61/62, in Hellfire), I'll take 20 agi over parry any day for leveling.

Last night off a random world mob. Think it was a ooze over in the pools near the Temple but it doesn't really matter since it's a world drop. I've always been a dps warrior, but I'm starting to build a tank set, this chest piece will be a nice part of that for a few levels. I love being able to upgrade items... so fun :)

im a prot pally and im tanking this group in ramps with mostly guildies and this drops and im like omg sweet i get this cause there was no other plate user and so i needed it asking people if i could 1st then the ROGUE who is in my guild needs it to and im like wtf why u need and he doesnt say anything so i open trade window and he still wont give it to me and i argue with him then he hearths out and ignores me... everyone on maelstorm server beware of rogue named thunderspike not only does he ninja groups he also ninjas guildies!

Found it in hellfire while killing thses guys in a cave one of them dropped it i was happy i also got some blue plate boots along the way but idk if i should use it or sell cuz i could wait for battlemasters chestpiece i guess.
