With the reveal at BlizzCon of the upcoming Shadowlands expansion, we’ve been getting a lot of questions regarding the schedule for the previously announced Visions of N’Zoth content update. To that end, we want to share that Visions of N’Zoth and the raid—Ny’alotha, The Waking City—will go live early next year.

Visions of N’Zoth is making good progress on the PTR, and currently with your help, we have been comprehensively testing the new content along with iterating on new systems like Corruption.

During the holiday season, we want to be considerate of all our players with the release timing of new content. Many guilds are still progressing through The Eternal Palace, and we want to give them enough time to finish the raid and earn their Cutting Edge: Queen Azshara and Ahead of the Curve achievements before opening the new raid. We try to avoid releasing new content tiers during the holiday season so that players are not encouraged to choose between progression and spending time with their families and friends. This also helps ensure us that we’re fully staffed to support any required hotfixes or turning issues that may emerge.

This will also give everyone extra time to enjoy the WoW 15th Anniversary event starting today, so you can play through the limited-time Memories of Azeroth raids and Korrak’s Revenge without having to rush through the festivities.

We’ll have more info on the new raid and content update in the next few weeks, so stay tuned to the forums and worldofwarcraft.com for the latest news as we head into the holiday season.

Healers:
Seek protection inside of a [Sound Barrier] during [Force and Verve].
Avoid sound waves emitted during [Song of the Empress].
Tanks:
Protect allies from Mantid summoned by [Summon Swarmguard].
Seek protection inside of a [Sound Barrier] during [Force and Verve].
Avoid sound waves emitted during [Song of the Empress].

Damage Dealers:
Defeat waves of Mantid summoned by [Summon Swarmguard].
Seek protection inside of a [Sound Barrier] during [Force and Verve].
Avoid sound waves emitted during [Song of the Empress]

Abilities

Song of the Empress: Shek'zara chants the Song of the Empress, emitting sound waves that travel outwards from her.
Players that come into contact with Song of the Empress are Silenced and suffer 4 Nature damage every 0.5 sec for 3 sec.
Force and Verve: Shek'zara shouts, inflicting 20 Nature damage every 1 sec for 6 sec.

Players standing in a Sound Barrier take 99% reduced damage from Force and Verve.

Sound Barrier: Reduces damage dealt by Force and Verve by 99%.

Summon Swarmguard: Shek'zara summons her Zara'thik Swarmguard to aid her in battle.

Zara'thik Swarmguard

Bladestorm: Charges to a player's location and spins a blade around the caster, inflicting 25 Physical damage to all nearby enemies every 1 sec.

Zara'thik Ambershaper

Amber Bolt Volley: Fires bolts of hardened amber at all nearby enemies, inflicting 25 Nature damage.

Vuk'laz the Earthbreaker
Vuk'laz the Earthbreaker is an insectoid Aqir world boss found in Uldum while that Assault is active.

Plumbing the forgotten depths of Azeroth, Prophet Skitra unearthed a devastating aqir known as Vuk'laz the Earthbreaker. Now freed from his subterranean slumber, Vuk'laz turns its destructive power against those who oppose N'Zoth.

Overview

Overview: Vuk'laz is a living weapon of war that attempts to overcome its enemies with devastating physical attacks. As the battle rages Vuk'laz summons scarabs to its aid from beneath the [Writhing Sands].

Damage Dealers:
Position carefully when Vuk'laz creates a [Tremor Wave].
Quickly dispatch scarabs that emerge from the [Writhing Sands].
Healers:
Position carefully when Vuk'laz creates a [Tremor Wave].
[Crushing Claws] inflicts heavy unavoidable damage.
Tanks:
Position carefully when Vuk'laz creates a [Tremor Wave].
[Crushing Claws] inflicts heavy unavoidable damage.

Vuk'laz the Earthbreaker

Tremor Wave: Vuk'laz unleashes a mighty tremor, knocking back all players in a 40 yard frontal cone and inflicting 50 Physical damage.
Writhing Sands: Vuk'laz summons a horde of Aqir scarabs from beneath the sands.

Aqir Scarab: Aqir Scarabs emerge from the sands to swarm and overwhelm players.

Razor Spines: Vuk'laz shoots razor sharp spines from its carapace, inflicting 30 Physical damage to all players within 40 yards.
Crushing Claws: Vuk'laz lashes out with both claws, inflicting 160 Physical damage to its current target.

Season 4

will replace as the seasonal level 10 Mythic+ affix. While active, interactable Black Empire obelisks will be present inside dungeons, which pull players into an alternate world inhabited by N'Zoth's lieutenants instead of the regular mobs. Defeating the mini-boss will open a portal back to the regular reality in that current location, creating dungeon skips without the need for Rogues or consumables. Any undefeated lieutenants will ambush you while fighting the final dungeon boss.
Similar to Season 3, rewards from various content including Mythic+, Dungeons, PvP, World Quests, and Emissaries will be increased by approximately 30 item levels. Difficulty of said activities will also increase by a relative amount.
Titan Residuum will reset in Season 4, converting to 1 silver per point in order to combat stockpiling and inflation. Purchasing Specific Mythic item level 475 Azerite will cost 20,000 , while random pieces will cost 175 (N), 900 (H), and 4,750 (M).

Mechagon Junkyard will include King Grobbamak, Gunker, Trixie & Naeno, and end with the HK-8 Aerial Oppression Unit
Mechagon Workshop will begin with Tussle Tonks, K.U.-J.0., Machinist's Garden, and end with King Mechagon himself.

Mythic+ Rewards

will award the title for completing all dungeons on Mythic +10.
will unlock the mount for completing all dungeons on Mythic +15.

PvP

World PvP: allows players to go rogue in service to N'Zoth, becoming hostile to all others, similar to previous expansion versions such as . Those who defeat enough players without dying will earn a title and achievement.
New Brawl: Teeming Islands is a large scale 10v10 PvP Island Expedition on the Havenswood and Jorundall islands.

Heart of Azeroth Updates

Three new power unlocks: A new Minor Slot unlock at level 75 and new traits at levels 71 and 80.
The progression on the Heart of Azeroth effectively ends once you reach the final trait at level 80, but you are able to continue grinding Artifact Power for more levels to further increase the item level of your Heart of Azeroth and power of your Azerite Essences by a small amount per level.

Magni's Questline will award (DPS), (Tank), and (Healing).
Horrific Visions will award (DPS), (Tank), (Healing).
Ny'alotha will award (All roles).

In Visions of N’Zoth, we’re making changes to the acquisition of Essences related to the Rise of Azshara zones. Our goal here is to lessen the effort needed to acquire Essences from Nazjatar and Mechagon for new and returning players as we want players to feel able to focus on content updated in Visions of N’Zoth.

Reputation requirements for Nazjatar and Mechagon vendor-sold Essences have been reduced from Honored/Revered/Exalted for ranks 1/2/3 to Friendly/Honored/Revered.
Acquisition of Rank 4 of these Essences is unchanged.

The follower experience requirements for Ranks 2 and 3 of Memory of Lucid Dreams have been reduced from 3000/6000 to 2400/4800.
Players who are Revered with their respective Nazjatar reputation may now exchange Manapearls for Bind-to-Account reputation tokens.
We expect the addition of account-bound rep tokens for Nazjatar to complement the existing account-bound reputation token that is craftable in Mechagon, providing an option for players who have already unlocked the Rank 3 Essence on their main to speed up their progression towards it on their alts.

The changes above should become testable in a new update to the Visions of N’Zoth PTR in the next couple of weeks.

The new Mechagnome and Vulpera Allied Races also have Heritage armor, unlocked once you level a Mechagnome or Vulpera character to 110 without any paid level boosts.

Legendary Transmogrification

Legendary transmogs are account-bound, so each character does not need to unlock them.
The Warglaives of Azzinoth are restricted to Demon Hunters as a unique reward from Black Temple Timewalking.
Equip restrictions apply, so classes unable to equip a specific legendary weapon may not be able to transmog to it.

Mighty Caravan Brutosaur Extinction

Hello! Yes. About that …

Like all dinosaurs, the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur’s days are numbered. I can confirm that when Shadowlands goes live, the shady vendors Talutu and Tricky Nick will cease selling it. Their other offerings – the Lost Platysaur pet and the Palehide Direhorn mount, will remain available for purchase.

We will make sure that the unforgettable Brutosaur mount is added to the lists of possible items that are sold in the Black Market Auction Houses. And of course, this new Achievement “Conspicuous Consumption” is a Feat of Strength, so as such things go, it’s not actually very conspicuous.

Question: I have completed the Mechagnome requirements (quest achievement and exalted with Rustbolt) on a Horde character, which i obviously can't do the recruitment questsline with. Do i need to do the mechagon rep grind again on an Alliance character now in order to recruit the allied race?

Residuum won't reset for Season 4, but prices will increase considerably; hardcore stockpilers should be able to buy 1 new piece at most.

They really need to bring back the fog effect on DK eyes. Compare that to the Lich King in the opening cinematic and you can see how it feels cheap by comparison. The old glow was outdated, obviously, but it extended outside of the character's eyes and it looked good at the time. Hopefully this isn't the final product.

Some of the battle pet changes listed (the black claw/flock etc) are not coming in 8.3. Blizz made it clear it would be in the future but specifically not 8.3

If you scrap an item before the patch, then do an item restoration to get the item back after the patch, will it take from your new titan residuum to pay for it? Most likely it would just ignore the titan residuum on that item as they will no longer be giving any titan residuum from scrapping pre-patch gear. You just never know, things like tend to be an after thought.

Looks like it's finally time to say goodbye to the Black Claw/Hunting Party "I Win" button. Was easy to see coming, after just about every pet battle in Nazjatar and, well, everywhere, can be won using those two abilities.

Weird that it doesn't show Dark Iron Dwarves in that list for Death Knights. Kind of a bummer for people who are saving for that Bronto mount too, lame in that regard, seems to me that they are doing it to force people to buy tokens to get it before it's gone.

vulpera heritage armor looks amazing! :) But you have to do a little bit to get it. The class itself also looks quite nice. Currently, in Shadowlands, the conditions for unlocking this race can be completed quickly.
