Ever since 2.0.1, alchemists have a better alternative - Restorative Potion: https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=9030

While Purification Potion removes 3 debuffs at a time, the Restoration potion can remove 6 over 30secs, not to mention it will work on Magic debuffs as well. The mats are also easier to find than Plaguebloom/Icecap.

Will Purification potion remove Priest DoT? If not, what alternatives to dispelling the Priest DoT (shadowpain I think it's called) aside from having another Priest in the group?

I just bought this recipe off a guy... and I'm starting to feel like its a crap recipe that i'll never make.

Is this really all that useful for anything? Isn't restorative elixir better than this anyway?

is this potion on the combat timer? the restorative elixer isn't... this seems to be a more powerful version, even though restorative works on magic and isn't on the combat potion timer, so you can still take other potions.

Restorative Elixir is better because is cures everything that this one does in addition to magic. Not only that but 5 of them at a time. Also the herbs for this pot are a lot harder to get than for the Restorative one.

This would probably be good for paladins, as curses is about the only thing they can't remove after they aquire Cleanse, which removes poison, disease and magic.

Restorative elixer can fail dispelling high level debuffs. Maybe purification potion can fail as well, but I haven't seen it happen yet.
As for ingredients I hate hunting elemental earth while i got a bag 'o plaguebloom and another bag 'o icecap.
I use the potions in tandem, they both got their uses. Funny to see a common lvl 32 pot is as good as a rare lvl 50 pot.

Seeing they being compared, but on the list for alchemy I don't find that recepie. Can it be player made and if so, where do I find recepie?

does it dispell Magmadar DoT ( the one when u step into the blob of fire he spits out ) ?

I have this recipe for a long time and made one yesterday and tried to remove a disease that the ragged owlbeast in Winterspring give (a 30 min. disease)and it didn't work.
They should change 'attempts to remove'to 'remove' so that it is certain that the disease is removed.

This is not worth it, I used this on my hunter quest against the demon in ws and failed it isnt good if you want to succeed get a "RESTORATIVE POTION" its way better and it works for 30 secs.

Hunter Quest PS Drink a greater shadow prot before the fight and then this if he turns you into a demon.

Wish these were lower, would be really usefull against the Satyrs in Ashenvale, Satyrnarr =/

Other then that I love these things for BGs (Arena and AB mainly). I suggest if you use one, make sure its after a fight or the warlocks are dead, because the curse can just be reactivated.

Just to let the blowfishs know, I had a taste of this potion from a quest in the Badlands and it replaces a paladin, mage, priest, or any other toon that isnt there when you need them.

Its like imp mend pet used on yourself.

This is a GOOD potion to have handy when anyone solos and I solo alot. Drama...

As of Patch 2.0.3, the recipe is now taught by the Master Alchemist trainers. (Rogvar in Stonard for Horde)
