Follow's with the top post, probably the best tanking trinket up to AQ40. Even then, it'd be great for off tanks.

That's almost correct. While the Parry rating grants 0.85% Parry at level 70, the trinket also grants 5.07 Defense at level 70.

According to WoWWiki, "Each point of +Defense skill adds 0.04% to the chance to be Missed, to Block, to Dodge and to Parry for players."

Thus, the trinket grants:

~1.05% Parry
~0.2% Dodge
~0.2% Block
~0.2% To Be Missed

For a grand total of ~1.45% Avoidance, and ~1.65% towards becoming Uncrushable at level 70.

Granted, there are better choices, but even so, this trinket shouldn't be underestimated.

not so much. 425 is the baseline for Defense against level 60 mobs, 440 Defense against level 63 mobs. after that you generally get better returns with straight Dodge/Parry mods.

atm an excellent tanking combination is this plus a Scarab from BWL or a Frostwolf/Stormpike Insignia Rank 6.

anyone have any thoughts about this for a druid? i know the ring is designed for casters but with all the + healing rings out there (like the cauterizing band i have) i figure ring would be pointless. my choices are between this and the necklace and im thinking of going this for the defence in bear form and fire reist. any opinions?

I just got the eskhandar colar from her, as in my case now the trinket is an ovious choice.

I got the head yesterday and as a fury warrior, I was thinking of taking the neck first.. because of the crit and +hit.. But then I changed my mind when I thought of using Eye of Hakkar instead.. every warrior should take trinket as reward.. Even if you're a dps warr u'll find it useful.

Lvl 70 Prot Warrior just got this today. I think it is still a good choice over most current tanking trinkets for a fight where heavy fire dmg is involved.

The quest item drops every time you kill Onyxia so a paladin has as much right to it as a warrior. Whiner!

Can you use 2 of these at once? It doesn't say unique.

/edit: You can turn in the head multiple times, but only get a reward for it once.

This is one of the three rewards for killing Onyxia and turning in Tête d'Onyxia or Tête d'Onyxia (Alliance).

For Horde:
Tête d'Onyxia gives Victoire pour la Horde ! which leads Pour que tous voient.

For Alliance:
Tête d'Onyxia gives Victoire pour l'Alliance ! which leads Célébrer le triomphe.

Reward is one of the following:
Talisman de sang d'Onyxia
Chevalière du tueur de dragon
Pendentif en dent d'Onyxia

This quest is not repeatable, so you only get to choose one of the three rewards.

I think most people know this by now, but this item is really bad. There's no reason to get it over the Onyxia Tooth Pendant.
