Let us not forget that's +32 for each casting of PW: Shield... not too bad considering its the only way to push this ability higher than the level cap allows.

You know, given that there's also +spirit on this item, and +healing, I think it's safe to assume that it isn't exactly meant for PvP use. If you want a PvP item that increases your survivability, just look for more +sta, it'll serve you better in the long run.

Besides, is there ANY gear in ZG that looks like it'll help a priest specifically in PvE? This is really no exception.

This item was likely intended to make a difference in PvE by increasing damage mitigated by PW:S over the course of long battles, where health and mana is always at a premium. Whether or not it'll actually help do this (I rarely use PW:S in PvE these days...) is another question.

This necklace is a FACTION reward. You talk to the same guy that gives you all of the other item creation quests (bracers, belt, shoulders). At Friendly you get your first version, Honored it gets upgraded, another upgrade at Revered, and finally at Exalted you get this necklace. You need to keep your old necklace to turn it in for the new one.

1. It costs no gold to get, and you don't have to roll against anyone or deny any other healers this amulet. You simply get it when you hit exalted with Zandalar
2. This is the only way to improve Power Word Shield. +35 may not seem like much, but considering that flash heal only received ~45% of the benefit of +healing, this is more like +70 to heals.
3. Getting exalted allows you access to the ZG mantle enchant, which is +33 to healing, something you should be trying to get anyway.
4. Is part of the Zandalar priest set whose 2 piece bonus is a lovely +22 to heals. Combined with the Zandalar mantle you have a combination that is better than Transcendence. (imo: 4 transcendence, 3 prophecy, and 2 ZG is the best priest setup, and this amulet is the only way to get there unless you want to use the crappy trinket)
5. Attaining this item is very predictable. Just watch your faction go up. No depending on bizarre drop rates.
6. Out of all the ZG exalted amulets, this is the best one out of all the classes. By getting this one, you save your DKP and allow paladins/druids/shamans access to other +healing amulets.
7. At Friendly, Honored, and Revered, you get other free amulets that are not too shabby either.
8. ZG rep also gives trade recipes
9. And finally, is probably easier to get than the only 3 comparable priest amulets: Wavefront (requires Lord Skwol, very hard and very expensive summoned boss in Silithus) and Jin'do's Evil Eye (3% drop from the hardest boss in Zul'Gurub), and Pendant of the Fallen Dragon (drops from Vaelsatrasz, hardest boss in BWL. Also this amulet has no +healing)

Will take about 15-20 ZG runs to reach the required faction, depending on the number of bijous/coin you have, and whether your guild does Edge of Madness.

to make it clear for everyone. the equip bonus for powerword shield is not only 35. there is missing a %. i have that neck and play with german client aswell sometimes and last time i saw, that it shows 35% but only in my german client. its a bug yet in english client version, but im sure they will change it soon. not the first time something like that happened. so u should get it. with 35% more its kickass neck :D i rly love that one!

Does anyone know if the extra absorbtion on shield is affected by the Improved: Power Word Shield talent for priests?

There are some good set bonuses that stack with the items in the set. This is a great item for a priest. It gives an improvement to Power Word: Shield. Not a huge one, but I haven't seen any items that help that spell at all.

I use this neck, hell it's free and if you look at the alternatives it's not bad at all.

Choker of Enlightenment - would you really spend points on this when the All-Seeing Eye is free? Maybe 6 months ago but you'd be stupid to now.

Jin'do's Evil Eye - I'd rather have the spirit on All-Seeing Eye than the int on Jin'do's, and the extra +healing is cancelled out by the bonus I have with Zalandar Confessor's Mantle (the best shoulders pre-AQ).

Put simply the choices for healing necks really are limited. I personally would only spend points on Pendant of the Fallen Dragon or Angelista's Charm, Pendant being my choice for the mana regen.

The discription is bugged. It increases the dmg absorbed by pw:s by 35%! That's like a 330dmg absorbtion increase.

+8 Intellect ? i can get that from green stuff..

Increases healing done by spells and effects by up to 18. ? worthless. even if it had damage spell also.. still be worthless..

I'm pretty sure you've never been to MC. This is a GREAT necklace for a priest. This is slightly better than choker of enlightenment, an EPIC drop. So stfu FFS.

This neckless is better than the choker of enlightment droppt by Lucifron in my opinion.
The Stat points are the same, but they are better devided. More spirit, less Int.

The PW:S bonus is not much at all, but its a gimmic.
In combination with the Zandalarian Mantle, which is also better than Prophecy shoulders, it gives +22 Heal power.

(my opinion)

btw: A priest doesn't need int for main Attribute
Go for spirit!

with 1.10 3/3 improved power word shield this trinket gives 1217 absorbtion. Seems like 35 value is added to base absorbtion and it gets bonuses from talents.

I noticed the +35 shield absorption effect actually affects the 4/8 set bonus of Habits du Vertueux.
