All the quests are availiable for both horde and alliance even tho wowhead displays some quests only Alliance/Horde

Collected all 50 in few hours... some of them were in pretty distant and random places like the one in Maraudon. In LBRS and BRD I killed no mobs and didn't even use my mage invisiblity.
Alliance towns were a bit tricky ones except Darnassus because it was kinda empty. In Ironforge I got killed three times and in Stormwind only once, because the quards can be outrunned more easily there. Using the Deeprun Tram between IF and SW is a nice experience for a horde-only player like me.

You get these from Elders in various locations, who then send you to other Elders.

they`re used to buy festival outfits/fireworks/food at the lunar festival in moonglade.
5 coins will get you 1 reward, except for food where you turn in 1 coin for 1 food reward.

It may have already been mentioned here and if so, I apologize for being redundant; however, I didn't notice this fireworks' 'charm' until this evening.

The 'Lucky Rocket Clusters', (the rockets given to us via the mail that is sent after we find an Elder), give +250 health for 30 minutes.

After tossing on a Cluster Launcher, if you are not standing within the fire works radius you will miss the buff.

I wished I would have known this yesterday before I tossed them at the launchers to clear inventory space.

As a side note: I was able to complete this quest alone (not without a few deaths in some areas). I found all the Elders with the exception of the Strathlome, Blackrock Depths and Blackrock Spire Elders. Strath and Blackrock Spire, I did not even try to attempt. Blackrock Depth I tried and failed seven times, although I got closer each time to the Ring of Law. Overall ... I had fun! Over 5 bars of experience (approx) for discovering new areas on the map and I also enjoyed seeing zones/instances for the very first time. The most fun I had was sneaking into Ally cities.

Well I got them all for rep (I wanna raptor :D) and can confirm they are all soloable. I have to say I liked this quest its been fun lol

Only tricky ones were Strat which needed a ss and 1 swiftness potion. Brs was the hardest i used a ss and 1 invisibility potion AND sacrificed my voidwalker. Infact it wasnt that hard but took a few attempts to get the combination right.

The ally ones were great fun but only place I died was in stormwind not long after getting in, then used ss drank swiftness potion quick and got all the way to the park. Infact I spoke to elder killed the one guard after me and found myself sitting there with nothing to do except wave at a few lowbies :D

There are currently _no_ known rewards for collecting all 50 coins. Eyonix confirmed that the Epic Trinkets are fake.

Just to confirm for this year:

Once again it has been confirmed by Blizzard that there are NO rewards for all 50 coins. For those who dont know, there was a rumor that if you collected all 50 coins from the Elders, you could pick one of four epic trinkets. In both 2006 and 2007, this has been confirmed false.

The sunken Temple Elder can be reached by jumping down from Lolo's balcony and running left. At 60 I was able to run around the mobs and talk to her. To reach Lolo take the second left stair not the immediate left one.

Ok. First of all, I have to admit I'm a 70 priest.
I'm not sure if it is for 70 or everyone, but I was getting 75 Alliance reputation points for each of the coins collected. It probably had to do with the patch that gave more rep. for everything.
I'm not done yet, but the list on thottbot had some that were one faction only. For example: the Undercity was horde only and Westfall was Alliance only.
Now there were some listed as both and they were in rather challenging areas. I got the one in Ogremar by riding maddly on an epic mount with a riding crop until I made it in through the back passage and then was slaughtered by gaurds and horde players. I made it to the elder and had time to finish the quest, at least, beforehand. I had some problems getting up to thunder bluff. I found the northern elevator close to the elder's bluff. I rode up and agroed the guards, but rode around until I found the elder at which point lost the guards and completed the quest. I even had time to ask about other elders. Then, I levitated off the back. The horde town in thousand needles I didn't even agro. Walked onto the elevatore right by the gaurds and then strait to the "!" I was surprised.
I've gotten 40 coins so far and will try to get the others before I'm finished. 50 total eh?

All quests are both for alliance and horde, I'm a Night Elf druid and went into Thunder Bluff, Undercity, Silvermoon and Orgrimmar to get the coins. Thottbots quest info is out of date having specific horde/alliance quests.
All quests where you get coins you get 75 reputation for all alliance or horde factions.
If the name of an instance is there (not the zone) it means it is inside the instance.

First off, just a warning. I went around and got almost all of these tokens so I could get the fireworks recipes for my lower level engineer. Well that is a waste of time because the fireworks recipes are soulbound. The launchers are not but the fireworks recipes themselves are. So....I sold those to an NPC dirt cheap and set out on my little engineer. I went to all the easiest places I could get to with no flight paths and got 5 tokens together.

Now when I get to Moonglade the npc who gives the recipes, Fariel Starsong, will not talk to me or offer me anything. *Cries*

SO, does anyone know why I am unable to get the fireworks recipes now? I am level 11, does that have anything to do with it?

Each coin you recieve gives you 50 rep toward your faction. For example if your alliance you will recieve 50 rep toward darn, IF, Gnome, Storm

I noticed that none of the Dwarven types (specifically the one in Ironforge, Goldshire and Stormwind) give the coin to my one character. He's gnomish and likely hit these same ones last year. The NElf ones did give me the coins in Darnassus, Darkshore, Astranaar and Dolanaar. He's my AH mule primarily, only level 20, and have not yet tried on my main who's 60 and did far more last year. Anyone else experiencing this?

Brightspear - Winterspring - She is at 55,43 - In Winterspring For those without coords - She is at the Ruins of Kel'Teril, if you go from Everlook she is right there at the left of the lake.

Stonespire - Winterspring - Right outside of the bank/auction area.

Nightwind - Felwood - Jaedenar - 37,52 Without Coords, go towards Jaedenar, however when you reach the path, right where monsters start, hang a right and he is about half a notch there.

I inquired to a GM about not getting coins the second time around. I was told that it was an intended feature that you cannot re-obtain coins from elders if they have given you coins before. Also the Omen boss quest is not re-obtainable.

She's in the Sunken Temple instance, in the North East part of the room with the dragonkin and the hole in the center, where the hallway has caved in.

As a level 60 restore druid I was able to sneak there and get the coin without any problem.

Actualy... the elders will tell where the others are. Pretty simple! Start with one in your city (jus look around) and that elder will tell where the others are!

Alliance and Horde can pick up coins from Elders in opposing areas, you just have to watch out for surrounding NPCs, guards and in the case of main cities, players. The Elders will still be friendly to you, though. Each coin picked up gives 50 reputation points to ALL of the main Alliance or Horde factions, depending on which one you are. So if you get all 50 coins, that's a cool 2500 reputation for each of your main factions :)

I'd just like to clear up one thing. Yes, you CAN speak to the elders in the opposite faction cities to your own because they are from the Cenarion Circle, which spans BOTH factions. The guards and NPCs that belong to the town however, do not. Obviously this means that the elders will speak to you, whilst the gaurds will just try to kill you.
As for who's coins you've gotten so far... Kudos, well done. But it doesn't add to the assistance to other players, so please refrain from blowing your own horn.

I've found damn near every coin, since I'm an engineer and I wanted all the firework schematics. They're almost useless, really, but fun, so that's really the point. :) I was grabbing all the ones on Kalimdor I could find first, since I started with Darnassus and worked my way south. Had no trouble getting any of 'em, even in the Horde-controlled towns (though not TB or Org yet), until I got to Maraudon.

To go for this coin, you need a healthy dose of masochism, lots of time, and a total lack of sanity. Unless you're a high-level rogue or druid, you WILL need a group that's willing to go to the VERY END. Yes, the very freaking end of the bloody instance. And it's a LONG instance, too. Whatever you do, do NOT fall/jump off of the bridge over the gigantic pond with the honking big crocolisk in it. Not only will you die a bloody and mangled death, you're gonna hafta run ALLLLLL the way back, avoiding respawns and the like, since you're too far away for the priest to rez your ass. And if you stealthed, well, you're doubly screwed. Go across the bridge and into the next room, and the light-dude is standing in there somewhere. SO...MUCH...HATE... Sneaking the ones out of Orgimmar and Thunder Bluff will take less time, hurt less, and be far more entertaining than Maru. Now 'scuse me as I huddle in the corner in a fetal position and whimper as I relive my THREE trips through there, thanks to two accidental deaths. *Shudder...*

Ok, unless im missing something here...

I went to Feralas amongst others; one of the elders told me 1 is at Camp Mojache, and 1 at Dire Maul... but they aren't there :S any coords?

Btw, it says only 14 npc's at this site, but there are way more :)

Further more, atleast 1 NPC is faulty: It says about 2 NPC's being at Light Hope's Chapel, Moonwarden the Elder and another 1. But only 1 is there. Not clear where the other is. Also there are Elders inside the instances, e.g. Stratholme, Scholomance, Zul'farrak.

Just collected my 50 coins in classic, solo as a Night Elf Druid. Took just about five hours, didn't have mount speed on gloves and missed some coins and had to go back for them. Trickiest was Stratholme. The mobs see through invis. Quickest way was to go through backdoor, rush left (pray you don't get dazed), through the gate, take a right and you should see the Elder just before the Unforsaken boss. Use an addon to auto accept and complete quests as you will die here unless you can vanish.

I know there is already a comment with a guide, but just in case you (like me) would rather just copy/paste waypoints into a macro, here you go! These should be accurate.
Oh, and for anyone stumbling upon this who has no idea what this event or these coins are good for, they can be turned in in Moonglade for some great event items like Raviolis de fête, and just getting each coin from each elder gets you 50 faction rep per coin. When you get to the dungeon coins I have found that they are all placed in areas where you can reach them solo as a lv 60 except for the Strat Live coin and the LBRS coin.

Stratholme - Elder Farwhisper
Available through front entrance only, north of the Festival Lane mailbox. Go in through the front entrance, take the first right, go through the two small gates, then follow the instance until you reach Elder Farwhisper.

Scholomance - Elder Moonstrike
Outside the instance on of the Scholomance tower. Enter Scholomance castle, go right, up the step, left, left again (not straight) right, up the stairs, and upstairs to the room lit by the torch, right (not up wheelchair ramp), up and upstairs, and she's on rampart.

Dire Maul - Elder Mistwalker
In the Arena in the center of the Broken Commons, between the three Dire Maul instance entrances

Blackrock Depths - Elder Morndeep
In the middle of the Ring of Law, aka, the arena

Dungeon 2 Guides
Maraudon - Elder Splitrock
Enter Marudon as if for a princess run via the Portal into the instance. Continue through the instance and the elder will be in the cave through the tunnel just past Rotgrip. Extremely hard to miss if you continue past Rotgrip.

The Temple of Atal'Hakkar - Elder Starsong
Go up the spiral staircase immediately to your left upon entering the instance into the pit of sacrifice and the elder is in the alcove just to the left.

Blackrock Spire - Elder Stonefort
LBRS- the Elder will be across the first wooden bridge a few pulls in

Zul'Farrak - Elder Wildmane
In Gahz'rilla's room near the gong.

As a Nain healing Prêtre I was surprised of how easier it is for Alliance on PvE-server to obtain all 50 Pièce des ancêtres than it is for Horde, and all due to how fortified Ironforge and Stormwind are compared to the horde capitals. On this lvl 60 character I spoke with all elders.

Undercity?
Surprisingly not a single guard on my way in. Straight in, and left doorway. Not a single Horde bothered by my presence.

Freewind Post?
Heavily guarded. From what I observed from the top of the lift, I would be beaten to death as soon as I stepped forward. Big was the surprise when the Horde guards didn't cared about my presence at all. I must only assume that the Freewind guards are set to tolerate non-aggressive Alliance players during the Lunar festival.

Thunder Bluff?
Use the northern/back yard lifts. When up, dodge/avoid guards while heading eastwards over the bridge to the eastern 'isle'. Mot de pouvoir : Bouclier and Oubli with Cri psychique as last resort.Got my Pièce des ancêtres before I died. And again, no Horde players ganking an easy target.

Orgrimmar?
Western entrance. Plenty of guards to dodge on my way eastwards, but still miraculously none managed to knock me of my mount until I got past The Valley of Strength. Using the same strategy as in Thunder Bluff, and I obtained my fifth coin before being gangraped by Orc guards. And again, no interference from Horde players.

I really must applaud the Horde's sense of fairness and understanding of my errand.

Back home to Ironforge, and an unfortunate Horde is detected. Immediate gankfest, while I do my best to tell eveyone to let Hordes coming for their Pièce des ancêtres to do their business in the same way we Alliance can obtain our coins in the Horde capitals.

And to all ganked coin-collecting Horde players: I sincerely apologise for my fellow Alliance-players premature behaviour
