It's about damn time that warlocks get a new rank of corruption, although it still has less DPS compared to SW:P. It's not BOP so everyone will get it eventually.

The new rank does 904 damage, nice increase from 732 on rank 6. Dropped yesterday for my guild on Buru the Gorger (4th boss in AQ20)

witout doubt the best of the new locks spell that drops in AQ. this was before a lvl 54 spell while imo and shadowolt are lvl 60, so they wont improve as much as this.

I Got this bad boy last night on my guild's first AQ 20 run the other lock rolled a 2 and I rolled a 90. I am the only lock in my guild with it. I was showing all the other locks it when they came on.

Got mine in a really great PuG AQ20 last night. Dropped off Ossirian actually.

This thing is unbelievable. Over a 100 damage increase to one spell is gonna seriously up my dps output in the long run. ;)

Oss also dropped leggings of the black blizzard, those things are sweet, I want em over my nemesis legs. ^.^

Get a clue, people. Affliction locks can do ridiculous amounts of sustained damage over longer periods of time with Corruption/Siphon Life/Agony on a target. Then throw in Drain Life and Nightfall procs and you have sustained DPS that can't be matched and the infinite HP Regen->Life Tap engine to beat out everyone else in the long run. It's unbeatable in boss battles and good affliction locks cost less healing to the raid because they heal themselves. I can stay alive on Vael without any of my healers up as an SL/Nightfall warlock and I only have 90ish FR.

what warlock doesnt use corruption in certain pvp situations( i know u dont use it when u seduce kite) but n e other time its a great skill to use.

also everyone puts on corruption for boss fights along with CoA because of the extra dps 1.5 sec cooldown for extra dps while you get to shadowbolt is awsome and what makes locks great dps in instances.

Corruption gets 100% from +dmg spells, so why benefits shadowbolt more from +dmg items?

I hardly ever use corruption in aq/bwl/mc. +Spell damage gear and shadowbolt is all I really rely on. Don't really understand what Paurtine is talking about, it's kind of obvious that certain bosses in mc/bwl are immune to fire. :P Why waste the mana on corruption when an sm/ruin lock with good damage gear can crit for 2500+ damage a spell.

I got this yesterday.

Deals 822 damage over 18 seconds, at a cost of 340 mana.
An extra 156 damage compared to rank 6. Not bad for an instant cast spell(instant with talents).

%^&* you Blizzard and your goddamn surplus of Warlock loot. All our locks have this and we have 5 extras. And the gates have been open on our server for maybe 3 weeks.

Also, no one wants to buy them.

i have yet to get any of the warlock books, but id think it would be awsome to get any of em , corruption is a great move for both pvp &pve , shadow bolt u just want, and imolate is cool 2, unlike the previous post i use imolate slighly more in pvp than i do shadow bolt, as a 5/7/39 warlock conflage is a awsome move , 1600 crit is my highest so far with only 3 pieces of tier .0. and the dmg from imolate is hella helpfull. the more dmg imolate does the better since its my cast spell. but having any is awsome. if u get one be glad about it since it doesnt usually drop any of em. (been that about 5 or 6 times and only hunter/rogue/priest/mage &*!@ has dropped)

Not using Corruption is silly. If the last tick goes off, it's about 450 DPS (unbuffed, rank 6) and over 2 DPMana. (I am assuming insta-Corruption, but at first tier it's the no-brainer in the Warlock tree - barring a few funky builds.)

Sadly, DoTs are nerfed in raids by the debuff limit - so the only DoT you use in a 40 man is Corruption. (Or the only DoT I use, anyway - if we could get better discipline in our group a couple of us would use CoD.)

The point is that this book is awesome, only a little less so than Shadow Bolt X. Meanwhile, Immolation VIII is pretty useless. Guess which one dropped for me? =\
