Very low drop. We had only one drop in our whole DKP history.
Atm it's the one of the best amulet for hunters, better only from Kel'Thuzad. :)

Our guild has had around 5-6 drop out of around 20 Fankriss the Unyielding kills. Most have gone to rogues, though 2 have gone to Warriors and I myself took one on my Paladin.

However, as the above gentlemen said, many guilds see very very few of these ever drop, and have to ration them slightly more.

Eye and Barbed Choker > Onyxia neck! 14ap = 1 dps, 1 hit = 1 dps after 6+hit... If you have NICE weapons and 6+hit w/ 1000AP+... grab the eye or the barbed. pass the ony neck to a Rogue/Hunter. I have all 3 items. with the Barbed choker u realize a huge difference once u put it on. Onyxia you can hardly tell. even i monitor recap after every boss fight.

Like comments above me, nice piece of equip for a hunter. Maybe a rogue or a warrior.

But a rogue would probally prefer:

Every melee class could put this item to legitimate use. I now open the floor to people who will state vague or poorly thought out reasons why their class, and no other, should get this item.

My rogue has the onyxia tooth pendant right now, and I'd be passing this off to other classes before I took it. My DPS warr's would love this as would some other rogues and even hunters.
One day I may consider taking it.. but not now.

Got both a 60 hunter and a 60 rogue which I play kinda much.

As a hunter I use talsiman from nef, and I will stick with that. As a rogue I would prefer this instead.

As a rogue I die much more often in endgame instances than a hunter and has more use of stam than them. Since rogues has more instant attacks than hunter they also benefit more from AP.

So in my eyes it's more of a rogue neck than a hunter neck.

I am sure u will have see many Hunters with Eye of Hakkar wich gives, 1% crit and 40 AP, this gives 1% crit, 44 AP and 10 Stamina...so its good for a hunter too. And yes this and the eye of hakkar are better than the nechless from Neffy that gives 25 agi 22 AP and 1% hit (from last patch) also from last patch 33 agi is 1% crit and 1 Agi= 1 AP, so the neckless from neffy gives 1% hit 42 AP and not even 1% crit so if u compare those with the neckless from AQ40, the neckless from AQ40 is better is better...

Fankriss, the dude this drops off of, is the 3rd boss in AQ40.

Got it the other day and I love it. I was actually still hanging on to my Will of the Marytr because I didn't want to give up HP or AP. This neck hasboth and then some. :)

My guild is having an arguement: Rogues/DPS warriors vs Hunters? Who benefits more? The best neck for a besides this is the Ony Pendant, for a DPS warrior it's an arguement between Eskhanders and ?

Hunters have Prestor's. GFY. 100% DPS Warrior/Rogue neck.

This is what i'm aiming for eventually. I am mostly a tank, so I got the trinket, and not the onyxia tooth pendant, so this is a good alternative, but it's in now way as good as the onyxia tooth pendant.

prestor > barbed choker as a rogue, because 1% hit > 14AP.
and an alliance rogue has got buffed 33agi with prestor (thx @ pala)
