Is it possible to use this item after the quest has been completed? I've finished the tier 0.5 chain, but when I was in BRD the other night I placed the banner in the arena and nobody came.

We had already done the regular arena event, but we had then cleared upstairs to the statue before I came back and placed the banner. I wonder if that had some effect in disabling the event.

Can anybody confirm that it's possible to use the banner and trigger the event after the quest has been completed?

Where to find Haunted Loci

Introduction

Contained within these pages are the locations of the fallen and corrupted spirits and souls involved in the Lord Valthalak's Amulet Incident. Though you have already saved these former companions of mine, it would be conjecture that repugnant echoes of the evil that once twisted their spirits still linger at those haunted loci. Such was the malevolent power of Lord Valthalak's spirit.

Additionally, the brazier can be used to summon forth Lord Valthalak, though as before, extreme caution should be taken in doing so.

The brazier itself functions just as the Brazier of Beckoning did. Simply place it within range of the five haunted loci and it will invoke the spirits of the dead.

As a side note. Because I know that you'll be interested in knowing, the Banner of Provocation can be used in similar fashion at the arena in Blackrock Depths. Be sure to teach Theldren and his goons a lesson for me every time you get a chance when you are there.

Can you get the item again after you have destroyed it? (Much like Seal of the Dawn, etc?)

I'm asking this because I am quite low on bag space.

Falrin Treeshaper in the Dire Maul library will replace the Banner of Provocation for you if you destroy it

Theldren's corpse only contains the amulet. BUT! When you kill Theldren's entire team, a chest full of prizes drops in the middle of the room.

The chest is named Arena Spoils.

This chest has some relatively nice stuff in it. They are different items than the items that are dropped by the normal arena bosses (who include Eviscerator, Grizzle, Hedrum the Creeper, Anub'Shiah, Ok'thor the Breaker, and Gorosh the Dervish).

The items from the chest are also higher level than the drops from the normal arena bosses (level 56 reqs as opposed to level 49-52 reqs).

However, there is not nearly as much of a variety in the chest as there is in the normal arena boss drops, and it is a much harder fight than the normal arena fights, so it's probably best not to redo this fight on future BRD runs unless someone in your group wants one of the items from the chest.

To explain a bit more, the banner can be kept forever, as long as you don't trash it. Also, the fight is only failed when you reset the instance, and even then it is not really failing. You do not have to win the first time.

You can try as often as you like without penalty :)

If you destroy your banner, Falrin Treeshaper in the DM library will give you a new one. I destroyed mine on purpose to test, and he gave me another.

The Banner of Provocation is used in last quest in the second group of quests for the tier 0.5 upgrade
quest chain. You can use the banner by placing it in the center of the arena in blackrock depths when
you are being judged when the event is first started. Once you place banner in the arena of
blackrock depths the event will continue as normal in that you will need to fight two groups of random mobs but instead of fighting a random spawn boss at the end of the event the banner of provocation will
cause theldren to spawn.

Theldren is a level 60 elite mob and spawns will 4 other random named mobs which are also level 60 elites.
After defeating all 5 mobs a arena spoils chest will spawn at the center of the arena containing the loot for the event.

The banner of provocation does not disappear after used and can be used over again many times.
Once the banner of provocation is placed in the center of the arena, the 5 elites that spawn as
part of the event will not despawn and the event can not be reset unless the entire instance is reset.

Is it possible to keep the banner after completing the quest, so that you can summon him whenever you want to? It's a fun fight, and the loots he can drop isn't bad at all.

The banner is not consumed on use. So to answer both your questions:

If you fail, you may simply try again (though you may have to reset the instance to be able to restart the scripted fight event)

After the quest, you may use your banner in the ring of law any time you like.
