There are a lot of new or buffed items added with +Def now with this 1.10 patch. This is a very nice ring for a tank. I currently have the ZG set, but this is a nice alternative.

This ring is no doubts great, and id take it to go with my Naglering. But naglering is a superior item for tanking. Before 1.10 it was kinda crappy, but the amount of blue tank items (that dont suck) has increased dramatically. (I.E. deathbone, naglering)

I would use this along with nagle in a jiffy. WHERE DOES IT DROP?

Well you are kinda dumb guys...
Just CnP'ed the Rings name into Google and got where it drops:
Kromok, Scholo, summonable boss in the T0,5 Armor Q
Rate is about 11%

That this drops from the ogre-boss in Scholomance in the tier 0.5 questline. I am of course tank-spec :)

Just got this ring in scholo cause my group changed hunters halfway through and the new hunter needed to down the summoned boss. I am a warrior btw and glad as hell I didn't have some idiot in the party rolling against me. It's hard enough to gear up as a warrior without druids rolling need on our tanking gear.
btw I got this and stoneform shoulders in the same run, woot guild runs ftw :)

MAN I am a warrior and I hate druids. they think cause they are bear form they can roll need.... well if that is true they can also need agility gear for there cat form and priest gear for there resto form and resto spec.. listen druids thats want not need and it is hard enough to gear up as a warr or rouge as it is without a druid raping all your rings trinkets nand necs not like bear form gonna be tanking in raid anyway losers...

My question is: does someone have to be on the tier 0.5 quests to summon Kormok, or could I just buy the brazier and summon the big guy next time I run Scholo?

That said, the Brazier isn't cheap. But this is worth it.

Hi. This dropped for me at the weekend.

It dropped from the new summonable boss in scholo.

The boss is summoned in ras frostwhispers room. Its a big ogre and is VERY hard to kill.

The boss summons a constant stream of 4 adds then 4 adds then 4 adds etc etc every 2-3 seconds.

The boss is only summoned as part of the new armour quests chains, towards the end of the chain.

Kormok is summoned as part of the Tier 0.5 quest chain where you upgrade your helm/chest pieces. Fought him yesterday. We wiped the first time because we had no idea what to expect. The second time we took him down before his adds wiped us. Luckily, the ring dropped. Purge him to keep that bone armor off and AE the adds away from your priest who needs to focus on keeping the tank on his feet.

We had a mixed group: ubergeared (tier 1/2) mage and shaman, and alt (green/blue) tank (me), hunter, priest.

The first attempt, we tried to AOE the adds down as each wave came, but that sapped our mana with the continuous waves.

The second attempt, we went hell for leather on Kormok. The moment the first sunder landed on Kormok, everyone started attacking. When the waves of adds came, I used thunderclap and piercing howl to keep aggro on all, with the rest of the group pretty much ignoring them.

Kormok only has 35000 or so hitpoints so you can take him down very quickly.

Got this today. It's a very very nice piece.

Compare it with Overlord's Crimson Band Bague de suzerain cramoisie from Bloodlord Mandokir in ZG, and consider 5 man vs. 20 man. As a set the overlord's owns pretty hard though.

I'm guessing of of one of the endbosses for the highish end dungeons cuz rivendare drops lvl 57 gear, though beast and drak both drop 57 as well

so yeah..... lots of bosses who it could drop from

The Dungeon Set 2 also called Tier 0.5 is aquired through a fairly lengthy, somewhat difficult and expensive quest chain through which you upgrade Dungeon Set 1 pieces.
After completing Retourner voir Bodley which is one part of the chain, you will recieve Le brasero : mode d'emploi and Brasero d'invocation.
The manual describes where the brazier can be used to summon a variety of bonus bosses with rare loot in the following dungeons:
