Location - Lord Roccor BRD.

How to get there.

Zone into BRD stealth past the two guards and head straight ahead. Head down the tunnel straight in front of you (about 1'0clock) which happens to be the southern entrance of the tunnel surrounding the ring of law.

Head down this tunnel, round to where the southern tunnel merges with the northern tunnel. You may see Roccor as you stealth down.

at the point in the tunnel surrounding the ring there is an small doorway with two braziers either side. Sit in this doorway and wait for roccor to path. Pull him... kill him etc

Loot the idol

Lord Roccor - Periodic stun, flameshock, lighting shock. His dps output is easy to counter with bearform etc. He should defn be soloable by decently geared (DM Blues +) druids.

WARNING - Watch out for the bloodhounds... they see through stealth.

Additionally Lord Roccor always drops a blue, which sell for a decent amount and can be DE'd as well.

I am specced for DPS, used elixir of str and elixir of def and i smoked him twice, idol dropped on the second kill. Not to hard to solo in cat form, didnt try bear form becouse i gave up thickhide for the 10% dmg bonus.

anyways go to the doorway mentioned above, you have enough clearance to get your ravage off on him, pull him back to doorway and proceed to DPS him, youll need to heal yourself once during the fight but easy enough becouse like afore mentioned his attack speed is really slow. If you know how to play your feral druid, he is easy.

Entered BRD today and yup, there he was (thanks, Phoz). I fought him in the entrance to the other bosses room (the one with the dogs).
I had to use a major healing potion since I got pretty ditracted during the fight by the patrols and the bad camera angle.

I'm 32 Resto/19 Feral specced and I had my feral gear on.

Dropped the idol, too ;)

just got this.. 2nd kill. he IS soloable.

when you enter brd go straight past the first 2 guards.. and go like your going to the ring of law lower lvl.. but dont enter the right ring of law entrance, go to the left one, in the same area you clear for your jailbreak quest. careful for all the dogs and pats since they can see stealth, theres a spot on the right by 3 dwarves you can tuck back in as u let the 2 pats pass (1.1dwarf 2dogs 2. 2-3dogs). than keep going and on your right theres a door into a room, you'll see some dogs just inside. if you stand in that door way you can pull roccor and solo him w/out getting any adds. good luck =).

Here's a quick solo stealth run to Lord Roccor in BRD for an Idol of Ferocity Druid Relic. This stealth run takes 6 minutes, and demonstrates the safe spots to avoid the hound patrols. Thanks to All who've posted for the instructions.

Phoz supplied great instructions. I fought Roccor three times, easy all three times. Start in cat, finish in bear. This boss can be stunned with Bash, so save that for when you're at about 1/2 life to shift out and Regrow&Rejuv.; The first two times, he dropped some blue shield - but the third time was the charm - he dropped the Idol of Ferocity and the recipe for Smoking Heart of the Mountain at the same time.
FERAL DRUID INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Ravage him and pull back to doorway
2) FFF, Rake and Claw until 5CP
3) Rip him, shift to bear
4) Tank him in bear - be sure to keep FFF and Demoralizing Roar up on him. When your HP are getting low, if you have lots of rage, use Frenzied Regen (saving bash). I don't recommend using Enrage. If you have low rage, Bash him and shift out for Rg/Rj and shift back into bear for the win.
As others have said, this guy is easy if you know how to play your class. If you can't solo him, it's time to reroll.

I got it after 4 tries today. I died on the 3rd try because I waited too long to heal and he kept stunning me. I am a 0/18/33 Resto druid. Very easy to take down. Starfire,moonfire,faire and drop to bear and tank. Stun him pop up to heal then drop back to bear.

7 tries and no idol.

Soloing him is extremely easy as balance druid.

He goes down fast when you star fire him for 1400+ and moonfire for 500+. Easy fight. Just wish the drop rate was better.

Was simple, pretty much pull him once you get to him in the cubby between the dog pen with a moonfire/starfire. Switch to bear form and use up all your rage with mauls and demoralizing roar. Once you reach 40-50%(or where you're comfortable) bash, switch out and regrowth and rejuvinate. Get back into bear form and fight, yet this time do not use any rage if you're feral. Build up rage, and once you're around half feral regen. If he's not close to dieing and you're getting low your bash will be ready again by now and just bash him and heal once again.

After all that he should be dead, if not... I don't know what to tell you ;p

EDIT: It took me 17 kills to get my idol, just as a side note. Each run took about 7-10 minutes which include getting to and killing him. My thorns were not wore off from putting it up when I entered the instance.

Don't understand the big deal... how is 3 energy at all worth it? OK maybe it's something to hold in your "idol" slot or whatever, but 3 energy reduction means... once every 14 shots you make one back? I don't think I've ever clawed/raked 14 times in one fight. Now, the idol of brutality on the other hand...

It took me about 6 tries. I died probably 5 times (3 times were with the dog packs because i was impatient). I used a fire protection pot on the last fight and that made a dramatic difference. I'm feral spec'd at 13/31/5.

I'm a lvl 55 feral specced druid and I soloed this guy. It was not by any means easy to get to the fighting point with the damnable see invis pups about but it is doable. Actually took me a couple of tries for me to take him down. But I basically did what the others in the video did. Pull him and bear form, healing when needed. The fight lasted about 4 mins I'd say as I used my feral regen close to the beginning and got to use it again to finish the fight. My bear form has 6k ac and 4k hp btw. And lucky for me he dropped the idol on the first and only kill.

Tauren spec'd 3-23-24 with "average" feral gear. Took me 10 attempts and 7 drops before I got it (about 75-90 mins total).

This is how I did it:
1) Stood in the doorway, and targeted Roccor using the /target command.
2) As soon as I had LOS, I popped a regrowth, starfire, rejuvenation, and moonfire. (You have to time it perfectly and have good position in order to do all of this before he gets his first swing in).
3) Shapeshifted to bear, FFF, and roar (make sure you watch the timers on FFF and roar... keep them up the entire time). Then let him attack me until my rage bar was at 75% (mixed in a couple mauls so that when the rage was around 75, I had about 60% health left). Regen'd back to around 70-75% health.

This is the tough part for some (not all) druids:

4) At about 50% health: bash, shapeshift, regrowth, stomp, rejuv, moonfire, innervate, shapeshift-bear. If you don't time it perfectly (or if you lag), he will interrupt your regrowth and you'll be pretty well screwed.
5) By this point, you should be hovering around 75% health and Roccor should be under 50%. When health gets to 50% again, shift out, nature swift a healing touch, moonfire, and go back to bear.
6) By now, hopefully Roccor is down to 20% health... fight it out, maybe popping out at the end to spam moonfire.
7) If you get in trouble, use a major healing pot and go back to bear... then pick up where you left off when you shift out again.

OK - getting to Roccor is easy. But (as a 56 feral specced druid) soloing him is incredibly difficult. I don't know if they've changed something since the last patch, but he now uses his interrupt CONSTANTLY. I just fought him for about 30sec and, for the 5th time in a row, and he interrupted me at least 5 times. Kinda hard to get those heals off with the constant interrupts. I actually tried casting back-to-back regrowths and he interrupted both! My advice - bring a friend. With 2 it should be very easy.

Well i got it on my third try some might say thats lucky...

Any way what you have to do is I got a group that is ready to farm one person in BRD and every time you go into BRD kill Lord Roccor and hope that it drops thats is how it worked out for me.

Energy is regens by 20 every 2 secs, that 5 energy from talents is imba, because when u run out of energy it takes only 4 secs to get enough for another mangle/claw instead of 6secs, 3 energy is veeeery good, any form of energy reduction is imba:)

I used Solo's suggestions above, and they worked very well. Took five kills and at last it dropped. He got me down to 500 health once, but I have really crappy gear. Only time I died was when I was running out to reset the instance and got careless and got too close to the dogs, so remember to stay away from them.

60 Feral druid btw, but using horrible gear, lvl 40 greens in some case :( If I can do it, anyone can.

I had the Chronos addons loaded. After killing the mob solo, I was unable to loot the idol. No messages at all, just couldn't autoloot or right-click it. I camped, unloaded all addons, entered the game and was able to loot the corpse. Whewwwww.

I soloed him at lvl 58 using the tips above.
2 kills later the idol dropped + the Smoking heart ot Mountain Formula :))

oh yea, I had full stormshroud and a Twig on me.
Bout 26% crit and 19% dodge (Thanks to a neck-piece)
Used a Fire protection potion each kill and 1 Mongoose.
Used Frenz. Regeneration and �came 1 time out of bear-form for a heal.

I read all the above posts before going in, ready to throw off well timed heals and everything else I read above, then the fight starts and his health is dropping like a stone and mine is barely moving. Killed him twice, did no healing of any kind (including no frezied regen) in both fights and still had over 2000 health remaining at the end of each fight. Stayed in dire bear form the entire time, pulled with FFF. Idol is pretty much useless though, since they added mangle in v2.0 claw and rake are both pointless. Also for those who don't know the idol increases damage by 20 now instead of reducing energy costs (changed in v2.03 Jan 9/07). I tested out claw with the idol against mangle, they both cost 40 energy and give 1 combo point so the only difference is damage:
claw-201 average dps
mangle-322 average dps
No contest mangle wins hands down every time, plus mangle increases bleed damage and claw doesn't. Skip the idol unless you are desperate to fill that slot and can't find a group to help you get a different one.

just did him solo at 55. no pots.
regrowth, pull with moonfire. go bear. beat him down, frenzie regen, beat down, bash, regrowth, beat down, barkskin, regrowth, innervate, kill.

not to hard for this lvl. only problem is getting past the dogs. time their paths and ride the walls.

still no idol drops though =(

25tries so far, four shields, and the rest has been the shoulders. Two recipes. six stacks o' bullets. No Idol...

He himself is not at all hard, the hard part is waiting an hour for the 5instance/hour reset :P

Writing this inbetween. I will have to get it soon, as I'm close to 60, and I do want to have it before I ding 60, as I plan on staying 59 so i can farm some honour for lv70gear, so I dont have to wear craptastic gear :)

Wow, I'm a 56 Feral Druid. just had the WORST BRD run ever. The group was actually pretty good, we dominated in the Ring of the Law, Cleared the Halls of the Law with no wipes and then Destroyed Roccor... and then.... A lvl 60 Palladin NEEDED THE IDOL OF FEROCITY. I Just about died, everyone in the group was like, 'not cool', A druid's nightmare.

24 kills no idol, bout ready to give up and realize how retarded and incompetent the devs are...

For a game that makes 24 trillion bucks a month you'd think they could implement a non-generic easy mode loot system that actually makes sense.

Anyway, this is how iv'e been doing it.

2 boxing a 70 hunter so I just kill all the dogs with hunter, stealth druid to begining of tunnel, pull him back to druid with hunter, kill and loot more useless shoulder items that nobody wants.

Got this on my second try on my druid. Full feral 14/32/5 spec. Didnt even need to switch out to heal the 2nd time. Just pop regrowth and rejuv right before you pull him and go to bear and beat him down. If you have decent gear you shouldnt have a problem with it.

I decided it was time for me to get this Idol, so I went in and killed Roccor.
Got it right away, when I knew how easy this was I decided to get the Smoking heart formula of him too. The next two kills gave 2 more Idols :/
Fourth kill gave me the formula and the blue shield.
If you get the idol and have it already you cant pick it up, but if you are an enchanter like me you just disenchant the one you have on and pick upp the new one.
Gives a large brilliant shard so its good to do it.

Soloed at lvl 59 (feral druid with crap gear) and got it on my first try :D I have to admit I was very close to dying though, because I shifted out of bear to heal and used healing touch instead of rejuvenation/regrowth. Bad idea. Healing touch takes way too long to cast, and Lord Roccor broke the stun before I finished... And in caster form he will wipe you. So unless you've got nature's swiftess (in which case you're probably not feral specced anyway and would benefit more from a different idol), go for regrowth if you have to heal.

Feral Druid here. Got it on my first attempt. It's pretty easy to stealth to the boss if you are careful, and he is easy to down in bear form provided you save your bash for when you NEED it to heal.

Just soloed as a level 57 NE Druid. Not a hard battle, took me about 5 deaths at LR's hands, but the Idol of Ferocity and a few Rockshard Pellets dropped on the first kill. All in all not a bad day.

It took my 11th try for the Idol to finally drop. After reseting the instance 5 times I believe the wait is an hour, so it was somewhat frustrating. Got tons of those shields, 3 cloth shoulders, a plate shoulder, 2 plans for the Smoking Heart and a couple greens. Those shields were nice since they sell for over a gold; it helped make up for the damage costs. :p Another positive aspect would be the 33 core of elements I got out of it, since I'm collecting them.

Soloed as a lvl 60 resto/balance druid. I agree it isn't difficult, but if you end up doing it several times try not to get too careless and stay respectful of those hounds. My impatience got me killed a couple of times.

When popping out to reset, a barkskin and rejuv cast beforehand can help save you while resetting should any of the opposite faction be hanging around outside.

Some Tips:

Watch for the Patrol of dogs that roams the path you stealth down

If you Have a Barov Peasant Caller, you can now use it in Bear Form and i even had them take agro off me once lol (no idea why though)They really speed up his take down

I did this exactly...worked pretty flawlessly. On entering the instance i took a left, went through the gate, and hugged the wall up to the tunnel leading to Roccor. Made my way down and hung out by the braziers until Roccor was in range and alone. Downed a greater stoneshield potion which put me up to 8k armor, hit a regrowth, went to bear form(Stam build) frenzied regen when he was at 60%.....stun, regrowth at 30% and finished him with 2.5k hp left.

Dropped the idol and heart of the mountain plans on the first try. I was ecstatic.

I am non-feral (31/12/8)and it was quite easy to achive, at level 60 that is. Now what was amusing was the drops. I managed to get his full loot-table before the idol droped. Okie, oke I lied, I did not get the ruby, lockbox nor essence, but at end he must have dropped the idol just because he was fed up seeing me once again.

I follwed guide given in one of the posts here. Its good one :D

And I think I could keep farming poor guy just for the easy money-shards and bullets.

Got mine today first try, stealthed around trying to avoid the dogs. i waited right outside the door of the ring of law where you cant aggro the dogs inside or the patroling dogs outside, when roccor came by i pulled him and from there on it was pretty simple. I healed whenever i got below 50% his stun can mess up heals so be careful not to get too low before you heal.

This is a fun little project for the solo Druid at 60. It requires unsing your feral forms to get, so it's appropriate that it's a feral reward. I think Blizzard may have specifically designed this as a Druid solo experience, but maybe that's giving them credit for too much brains :-)

I found that Barkskin was not worth the time to cast it, since his knockdown interrupts casting even with Barkskin up and he'll squash you pretty fast.

Did it in bear using stun/shift/regrowth/shift a couple times in each fight. Died four times when things went wrong, but eventually it feels really easy once you learn what you should and shouldn't try. Never tried it in cat gear, was afraid he'd kill me too fast, but I probably could have chopped him up into little bitty pieces fast enough.

I got 2 plate and 2 cloth shoulders on the first five kills, and only the Idol on the sixth.

Easy to get, roccor is a piece of cake, just fight him in the doorway in the middle of his patrol path and it avoids all the other patrols.

This gotta be a joke! ive killed him 15 times atleast!.. still no drop.. only 4 formula: smoking heart of the mountain, 5 mantle of lost hope, 4 earthslag shoulders, 2 stoneshell guard shields and some blue bullets and green boe stuff. im starting to doubt he really drops that idol.. :(

Increases claw damage by about 6% and rake by about 8%.

It just makes it cost less... doesn't say anything about adding to damage. I wish this did something for bear form... much prefer bear to cat, myself.

I got it tonight on my third try with a rogue guildie. This guy drops some really nice (ugly, but nice) cloth shoulders for a lv48.

2nd attempt, waiting for an UBRS raid to get situated :) - after you enter BRD, steath straight thru the big room, to the back hallway, and avoid the dog patrols by sticking to the wall - they will turn towards you for a second or two, and run away. keep going until you see a little alcove to the left that leads into a bigger room (rocco patrols by this room). Im resto-spec'ed, lead off with a starfire-MF-FF combo, bear, fite fite fite, bash, heal, repeat. EZmode.

Catform in, go to the middle of that circular hallway, theres a door into another room. Fight him there. Faerie fire, roar, *keep those up* maul maul maul, feral regen when at 50 - 80 rage. Bash, heal *if needed, you should not.*

This is a MUST HAVE with the new Patch if you are a druid... the new skill gets dropped down to 38 energy from 41... it's HUGE!

Just farmed this up in Classic the day that Phase 5 dropped. Confirmed it does definitely drop from Lord Roccor, who patrols the path around the arena. It took 3 kills to get it to drop, which were fast and easy. Just make sure you clear a space to fight him in, or pull him into one of the prison cells.
As always, watch out for random patrols and don't stand too close to the guardsmen packs (if you decide to leave any alive).

Just like the ferocity talent, the idols barely do anything for cat and are very good for bear..I guess Blizzard didn't consider that subtracting an integer from a small number is waaaaaaaay better than from a big number lol.

Good to know that I can solo farm this and I'll get it but I'm not sure it will actually change a single thing in rotation or dps. Most times you're going to just throw away the 3 remaining energy while powershifting.

edit: I totally forgot that you don't even use claw or rake in groups lol. So this is pretty much absolutely useless. At least it dropped on the 1st try... 2nd if you count me being stupid and pulling him without buffs, or hots, and in the wrong gear /facepalm

edit2: now that I think about it more, it does have some use when playing solo where you do actually use claw. The additional -3 energy is useless but the -5 to go from 45 to 40 is actually a big deal for breakpoints - it allows you to claw 3 times in a row before powershifting. So you could use this idol to save 3 talent points in ferocity for something else.
