lol,the mats for this are extremely common,absolutely farmable,this must b the path from 360 to 375,but the schematic has yet to drop :S plus,u get aldor rep cause the engineers drop a lot of marks of sargeras and some fel armaments,kinda nice sideeffect if u ask me,also if u get lucky enough,u get some greenies

Got it in about 5 hours of farming. Farmed solo for about 4.95 hours, then 2nd mob after I joined a group and boom. *shrug*

This schematic eluded me for three days - I made an account just to be able to post about it and the grind from hell that it was. Today I got a working kill counter addon (grrr @ malfunctioning Kill Log...) and racked up 201 kills before this dropped. Adding up that and what I estimate I killed on my previous farming sprees, I killed about 600 Engineers before striking gold. Today I'd decided to stop at 200 kills, but luckily for me one more Engineer spawned just as I was about to leave, and I thought what the heck, I'll kill it - and what do you know, it dropped. :D

My engineering skill is 325, so I can very much confirm that you do _not_ need the schematic's requisite skill in order to see it or in order for it to drop.

Forge Camp: Anger is small with many other players visiting to finish 2 quests called Decieve Thy Enemy and You're Fired (1rst requiring them to kill Doomforge Attendants and Doomforge Engineers, 2nd requiring them to kill Doomcryer).

Join them to help them and yourself along. The faster they finish that quest and the followup, the faster that they will be out of the area. There are only 5 Engineers and many other Attendants, Anger Guards, and Legion Fel Cannons. Be careful of the cannons, they inflict a lot of damage in a short amount of time.

It took me 5.5 hours until the recipe was dropped.

If you are going to farm for this or the Khorium scope, you should try to do it at a point where you can spend atleast 4 straight hours farming. If you come and go multiple times for 30 mintues each, you are playing the lucky card more then just farming it.

Plan a large portion of time to farm this, ideally when the area isn't full of other character's doing quests (I farmed for this starting at 1am server time, the area was dead).

For the Felsteel Boomstick, when you enter the camp, walk up the main stairs at the front and you will be standing at one of those tower things for the keys. Right behind the tower to the right is a bit of a hill. I was able to stand there and watch all the engineers respawn, and head over to kill them, without aggro'ing a single other mob.

I got mine after an hour. I was actually falling asleep, and as I clicked 'Log-off', and the pop-up appeared, another engineer respawned. I decided to kill him quickly, and he dropped it.

Probably the worst thing about farming this schematic is that the engineers also drop motes of shadow, which from the corner of your eye might just look like a blue schematic drop...

The first engineer I killed dropped it. I was clearing around the Legion Communicator, had no idea they dropped it. I was giggling with joy at a blue BOP eng schematic dropping, and never knew how rare it was till just now.

Then I farmed Sunfury bowmen for 6 hours for Schematic: Khorium Scope. I guess I got my comeuppance.

I spend around three days farming this one. I invited numerous Horde players to my party that were doing the quests around there so I didn't get in their way.

The first day I farmed for two hours and got nothing, second say around 1 hour and a half and again nothing.

Finally I picked up some guildies that were willing to come at the midst of night and we decided to slaughter everything in our way. Finally after 2 hours it dropped, I would not say it was worth the time tho, but you need it to level up if you don't have the materials to make Khorium Scopes!

Bottom line is:

Pain in the butt to grind, especially with people doing questing around the area and "stealing your mobs" to put it in a egocentric fashion.

I got this after 383 kills. Also dropped was a total of 267 Netherweave Cloth, 108 Marks of Sargeras and 8 Fel Armaments. The Doomforge Engineers are largely straightforward, a not too damaging flame spell at your feet is the most dangerous attack they perform, and it can be removed simply by moving. If you see anyone around the camp, offer your assistance and hope they aren't after the same recipe you are. All in all, not the worst thing I've ever farmed for, but still a pain due to the slow respawn of the engineers.

Also of note are the two rocks in the middle of the camp. When standing on one of these rocks, nearly all of the engineers will pass well within 30 yards of you. You will also not have to worry about aggroing any of the other mobs (at 70 at least). The 1-2 engineers that don't come within range of your perch should be reachable without aggroing other mobs, so all the engineers are easy pulls from here (even for a paladin).

Got my schematic after about 20 minutes, guess I'm just lucky?

I killed all the other things as well to pass the time, and ended up getting several mana/health pots and the rep items. . . not too bad.

I also already had 375 engineering, just trying to get *all* recipes :)

I went to farm this with my hunter at level 69. I did the quest in the area, got a lot of rep items and exp and finally after 98 killed Engineers the Schematic dropped. It was quite an nice place to grind at imo.

Seriously, I spent 2 hours trying to get 4 engineers killed for my quest because this 70 hunter was out there killing all the engineers as they spawned. I can only assume this is what he was after.

Got mine after 128 loots with an engineer character, which I expect isn't too far away from the true droprate. The armory shows this has a drop rate of 1-2%. I expect that while some poor folks grinded (ground?) these 5 lonely mobs over and over again hundreds of times, just as many (like me) got it with a single clearing of the place.

I wouldn't walk in expecting it to take 5 kills or take 500 kills but somewhere in between. However, with such a small number of the engineers around at one time it very well may take a while.

As for the 0.3% drop rate, as has been noted elsewhere on wowhead, that's the percentage of total looters who have gotten this off the loots, whereas I suspect the armory shoes the true chance that it drops off a given kill, regardless of the looter's professions.

I was feeling pretty weary about farming this, especially after having read the comments that said it took hours to drop, and there's only a few guys to camp, etc.

So, with a heavy heart, I flew to the camp, started the killing...

...and got the schematic in three kills.

Now I don't have to rely on the Repair Bots and Flying Machines to level my engineering!

At this time i've farmed about 10 farming sessions. Anywhere between 1-5 hrs each session. Still no drop from the doomforge engineers on these. I've made alot of money out of it and half way into revered from all the marks and fels that dropped. I guess it's just not my luck to get this...

I'm making Khorium Scopes in the meantime to raise my engineering level, but id rather have this recipe to make things a bit easier to get to 375.

after approx 700 kills over two days, finally got it. Grinded all but one bubble of 69-70 getting this and khorium scope. Coach-Horde can make this on Terenas.

For me this schematic took about 10 hours of grinding time. I got it in the second hour of my third session. During the grinding, I did find alot of marks, fel armaments, netherweave cloth, greens etc. Also, I'm a rogue and pickpocketing the demons gave some extra cash and items.

These BoP recipes only drop if you *have* the tradeskill (and the required skilllevel in it, I think) from the mobs specified.

The drop chance is therefore higher than what Thottbot and other sites state, but still not awesome.

Fortunately, most tradeskill drops seem to be off of Aldor/Scryer rep grind mobs (or perhaps it's the reverse, and there's loads of recipes out there on un-ground mobs).

Got it on 569th kill. During that time got a lot of marks and fel armaments. Which probably financed to skilling up since the mats for the boomstick run aroun 100g per 1. One advice. You will need a lot of adamantium tubes and felsteel stabilizres. Make them until they turn grey. Then you can make adamantium rifles. I made 10 and got 3 points from 361 to 364. At which point I started making the boomsticks.

I thought i must have got the place wrong after i looked it up to see where this dropped and then came here. Theres only ever 5 engineers who only drop this out at any 1 time, they have about a 5m spawn rate so basically your not farming your hovering above the camp waiting for 1 to spawn. To make things worse i had this human rogue around trying to do the same thing, so we were racing to kill these engineers first, still there now, dont think il ever get it, counted 87 kills (i think) so far and no joy. They need to either increase the drop rate or make more engineers out at any one time to drop it. This is just mad.

Definitely worth grinding for. I'm a 70 hunter and I got it after about 70-80 kills. Definitely cheaper mats then the khorium scope and the other items you can level engineering with. Should be easy to go from 360 to 375 now. Also as an aldor it was a good drop rate for marks and fel arms while killing these guys.

Have killed 300 plus and still no drop. To make matters worse also have not had any other green items drop from the enginers, so it's all or nothing.

On the positive side have probably made 30 gold doing this on and off in the last week. Yes I am trying to find a positive out of all this frustration.

14 hours, no drop..over 3 days 9 fel armaments, 130+ marks of sargeras, 2 very nice blue JC recipes, tons of green items, but no Felsteel Boomstick...
The drop number is >10x less than the khorium scope....
Next day, still grinding, no boomstick schematic, got another blue JC recipe tho, and I'm drowning in netherweave cloth...
OK finally GOT IT! Never farmed this hard in my life, was starting to doubt it existed in this patch.
12 fel arms, over 200 mark of sargeras...

I am still in the process of farming this schematic, Ive killed at least fifty engineers so far. There is one saving grace to this tedium.On my server an adamantite mine spawns in Forge Camp Anger about every ten minutes or so. If you are a miner as well as an engineer at least you can farm the mats for this gun for when the schematic finally drops!

Building the Gnomish Toshley transporter and setting your hearth to Toshley's station is best to beat cooldown/respawn to jump back and forth to farm them between instances and quests.

After ~200 Kills it dropped, don't lose heart (I was starting to wonder if they removed it or something too), it is still there.

Given this is the only practical way to level your engineering skill above 360, I would like to think Blizzard will address this ridiculous step in the future and make this (or add a new recipe) a vendor/trainer/non-bop item.

Why does Blizzard hate engineering so much? You'd think that since they're a bunch of pocket-protector programmers, they'd give some love to this profession. Or maybe they're just bitter.

Anyways, 101 kills for me and still no drop. I'm gonna put this pursuit on the back-burner for a few days. Maybe go waste time trying to get the Khorium Scope.

Edit: I finally got it on the 192nd kill. Hang in there, it will drop!

finally, got it. a friggin' week of grinding. made around 1k gold from stuff sold in the AH and spent around 1,4k gold to push my engineering skill from 386 to 375 via mats bought in that AH.
six boomsticks, one skill level made through felsteel stabilizer, that's around 200 - 250 gold per boomstick.
i ca't even sell them for 50 each. dammit.
well, i can still disenchant (yeah, that's right, i'm enchanter/engineer) and sell the shards für 25 each. yay.
whatever. i hope that engineering flying mount gets me that 300 riding skill, i'm NOT going to grind 5k for it! i spent more then enough in my "trade"skills.

yeah this recipe sucks to farm... considering theres only like 4 of the mobs that drop it... and on top of that there is a quest that involves killing them... bleh been here about 6 hours total today and 3 hours yesterday... still no drop (its bad enough i have to farm as a resto shammy)

This is wack. Why hasnt blizz changed this drop rate or added more boe patterns? Farming for 3 days isnt my idea of fun. I dont expect to be handed an easy path to 375 ( like every other profession) but come on...

Like there isnt already enough things in the game to keep you playing forever... Takes 4 hours to do have fun for 45 minutes...

If you're farming this to level your engineering, stop it. Go farm Sunfury Bowmen in Netherstorm for the Khorium Scope schematic. There are lots more of them than there are Doomforge Engineers in Blade's Edge.

what do you need to get the drop ?

1) you must be engeneer
2) you must have skill 260 atleast !
3) its BOP

it is fairly easy to kill them but only 5 spawn at any given time, so be patient, you will spend alot of time here.

a good kill spot in the middle of the whole thing there is a small "hill" if you stand there you can see all spawns and can pull any mobs there, also here you are out of reach of fel cannon.

so after pull you can run here and kill mob.

Here is all you need to know...

Dropped by Doomforge Engineers (level 67-68 Demon) at Forge Camp Anger. (74, 41)
Engineers hit for 180-240 on leather with 2 special abilities, 1 that blasts you into the air for 2 seconds and chemical fire, an AoE that lasts about 8 seconds even after they die... STEP OUT OF THE GREEN FIRE
Usually 5, to a maximum of 6 engineers are alive at any given time
The respawn for these engineers is 3 minutes
They DO drop Fel Armaments as well as lots of Marks of Sargeras and LOTS of Netherweave
The drop rate for the boomstick schematic is less than 1% for engineers with 360+ skill

1 engineer is located at the northern corner, 2 at the eastern, 1 at the western, and 1 in the middle

Unless you get very lucky, farming should take upwards of 2 hours. Good luck

For thoose of us playing TBC Classic, I can confirm that the recipe does indeed drop. It also has the same ridiculously low drop rate back in the day!

Must have killed about 100 of the engineers to get it to drop.

Can confirm Schéma : Espingole en gangracier drops in TBC Classic Phase One. Just got it to drop for me after about 5 hours of grinding / helping randoms finish their quest chain in this area.

Schéma : Espingole en gangracier is dropping in Phase 1 of Classic TBC. The drop rate is not that low, I dropped an average of 50 Ingénieur Forge-ruine in Forge Camp: Anger (Blade's Edge Mountains, 65.7, 40.0) and this NPC's respawn time is not 6 minutes but ~3 minutes. There are 5 of them.

To get this diagram you need to have at least 260 engineering and it's a great opportunity to level up your engineering from level 360 to 375. Many guides don't mention this item because they think the drop is too low. But I consider drop rate to be 3~5%. WoWHead considers 0.7% because it generalizes all characters even those that are not have engineer, but it only drops for those who have engineering.

Keep helping the players who come to do the quests, inviting them to the group and setting loot Free For All. Even if the other guy loot, the recipe will go just for you If he's not an engineer of course.

PS: This is the only place that drops the recipe: Plans : Casque Rage-acier too, only for those who have blacksmith 260. Garde de Colère.

Honestly I see NO reason to farm this unless you just feel the need to have every schematic. There are much easier better weapons to be obtained than this at same level required. And its not a pattern needed for leveling engineering at all. Save yourself the headache of this low drop rate low mob rate item that is not even good!
