Very nice tanking cloak (druid or warrior, no matter).

Resilience (if someone didn't know yet)
Decreases the chance of enemy scoring a critical hit on you. Also reduces the damage taken from a critical strike. Your character has a base rating and items can modify this rating.

Very nice necklace. For tanks, they should replace it soon with the Mark of the Ravenguard https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=29336 -- a quest reward out of Auchindoun's Sethekk Halls.

Probably a player's first taste of resilience from a PvE source. Aside from tanks (and even that's a stretch), I can't say there are many other classes that need resilence at this level--especially since you get necklaces with more utility soon after.

I am crazy to call a rogue that rolled on this over me ( a tank ) a ninja? Crits kill tanks IMHO.

Not bad for gaining resistance against criticals pre-70 tanking. At 70, you should really be focusing on Defense for un-critability, however pre-70, as in non-raiding, stacking Defense is not as good as other mitigations/avoidances.

For a tank that just powerleveled to 60 and didn't have the pleasure of getting defense gear prior to the BC release, this is one of the first decent tanking necks from the BC instances.

For PvE, this is definitely for tanks.

For PvP this can be handed down to pretty much anyone .

blizerd put resislace in this game FOR PVPERS! so they dont get &*!@#ed at for needing trinkets that have tank stats.....yet what was the wariors done....TRYED 2 MAKE IT A TANK STAT!......i mean just look at the gladiator gear.....almost all resiliance........this thing is over 2 ANY class no mate what!....i rest my case

there seems to be a debate as to whether this item is for tanking or pvp combat. i'm an arms warrior, so i usually play the role of tank in parties, but i plan to do much pvp at lvl 70... so either way i'm going to put this to good use!

resliance = pvp, all there is to it.. im not saying it may not help a tiny bit in pve, but no tank should try and become better by ataining it

We argued that it was so a tank piece (im 63 prot warrior BTW) but in the end the rogue out rolled me by 5 points and i let him have it ... but i hinted that i wanted to stab him with my sword for the rest of the instance. POINT IS i should have gotten that piece especially when i was using a quest green i got from hellfire as a tank SAD EH!

Ok... for everyone who thinks warriors and paladins are the only tanks out there, please consider that resilience is one of the easiest ways that a druid tank can achieve uncrittable with 3/3 Survival of the Fittest. Since there's not much to choose from with regard to leather gear with +defense on it, resilience stacked with Agility is one of the best ways (pre-tiered) a druid tank can achieve uncrittable status with the Agility to help in furthering the dodge percentage.

The failure in all of the posts in this thread so far seem to focus on the viability of resilience vs defense from a warrior/pally standpoint. Don't be so ignorant to believe that +defense is the only way to go. As someone so clearly, and rudely stated earlier, "I rest my case."

yeah its hard to make the claim that tanks get first roll on this. there are other necks out there that are just as good. res and stam are both pvp stats for all classes. open roll on this imo.

Tanks will want this mostly for the 300 bonus to hitpoints. +30 is more than most necks at level 63. Frickin' Blizzard, stop putting PvP items in a PvE environment...
