"Mogh the Undying " is an elite Skullsplitter Clan Witchdoctor, he is a TROLL.
He is stay in the Ruins of Zul'Mamwe(where the Skullsplitter Clan stay), on a small hill inside the ruins and surrounded by a lot of Skullsplitter trolls.

Worked perfectly for me. Watch out for his minion, a Kurzen guy: he heals him, so kill/sap/sheep him first and then take on the big boss.

I solo'ed this guy with my lvl 48 druid and he dropped the heart.

tried to solo with my level 44 mage. bad move.
between the fast respawns, pulling unnecessary aggro and the patrolling hunters with pets, you better get help or solo at a higher level

Most annoying battle evar!

I'm a 46 priest. I cleared out most the trash around him and stood on the wall as others have before. Then I mind controlled him and drained a ton of his mana using shadow bolts to kill his own pet.

A few times he would resummon the pet and I would just run away. Finally I managed to mind control him, kill the pet, and attack him before he could resummon the little healer dude.

Not a fun fight, I would much rather have done that with a second person.

very easy as a 47 Hunter. cleared the trashmobs, lured him into a trap, killed his healer, killed him, end of game. didn't had to heal my little cat...

I solo'd him at 51 rogue just sap one blind the other and blade flurry the rest.

I'm a lvl 41 paladin, and I brought my lvl 44 lock friend along for the help. Some taurens had just come through and cleared most of the random trolls, so it was just Mogh, his minion, and 3 other trolls. My lock friend tried to pull just Mogh, but sure enough, we aggroed everyone. We killed Mogh first, I looted the body, and we killed everyone else. What we didn't count on were the respawns behind us. We killed most of them, but we both died right at the very end because I ran out of mana drinks and couldn't heal us. So, moral of the story - kill Mogh first, LOOT HIM, try valiantly to kill everything else, and then if all else fails, just run like hell!

I just managed to solo this guy as a 45 hunter using only a mana potion at one point.

First, clear the surrounding mobs.

In Mogh's little group by the campfire Mogh has a minion who heals and a regular troll. First you need to take out the regular troll.

Simply go in with your pet and take out the mob as fast as possible. The minion might try to heal, if he does that just scatter shot the minion.
Once the troll is down just feign death and wait for your pet to die. At least I wasn't able to take them all in one fight.

Resurrect your pet and regenerate.

Now, with only Mogh and the minion left you need to take out the minion first as Mogh won't go down fast and the minion heals more than your scatter shot can handle for a long fight.
Go in with your pet and kill the minion, scatter when he tries to heal, then just take out Mogh, he isn't that hard alone.

I always found Mogh by the campfire in the east area, never wandering.

I tried soloing Mogh with my lvl 49 druid. I was able to take out all the trolls in the area but there was still Mogh, his boy toy & a skullsplitter. Once I tried rooting 2 of them and taking out Mogh but that didn't work. Trying a straight bear tank on Mogh I almost killed him but the minion took me out. I recruited a 42 hunter drew aggro fromthe whole area, including Mogh's group! I was able to travel form out but he ate it. While waiting for him to rez I cleared the area of trolls and the 2 of us were able to handle the trio by the fire w/o much trouble.

I agree with the other posters that when the crap hits the fan just bolt! They don't seem to chase too far and if you have an area already cleared in the back field (like near the slopes) you are safe.

The item for the Alterac Mountains is at location stated on Thottbot already. (LOC is 36.54) Kill the mage named in the quest log. (ALL the mages there have red breechclothes.) He roams through the main strip of the "town" they are at. He drops item you need.
The item in Dustwallow Marsh is on the island previously posted. (LOC of island is 59.9) The alter and drop for enchanted kelp is on same island. The Enchanted kelp dropped after the 3rd oracle/6th kill. One glitch of a warrior not taking hits or spell affect. I swam out a bit and he reset.
The last item is in Stranglethorn Valley in location as stated. (LOC 48.42) The item is dropped by a large priest located by the fire with a brain enslaved human next to him.
After that return to Iron Forge in the warlock area of the forlorn caverns to turn in quest and accept the next quest.

Did this at lvl 44.. Lock :).
If you are a warlock do like this:
Kill the mobs around him, then load up with heartstone, soulstone and superior health pot. (Full mana and hp ofc)
Then you skip his 2 adds and just go for the guy.. Take the shield u got against shadow and start slaying. Dot him and use deathcoil.
When he is about to die you should have used your both pots and then u take sacrifice, dot him some more and finish off with Drain Life.
Then loot him and just run. If u die you got the ss.. I didn't die cuz my Sacrifice was still on.

I did it on my 42 mage:

kills mobs around him, kill mob with him(not human) and run/blink/frost nova and get away. Go back sheep Elite, kill human, bandage up and have your way with him and be sure to Counterspell/Frost nova

Cords are 56.1 71.3 go all lefts it is the first tunnel you see to the left off the ramp going into cave. no rights.

47 priest. Mindcontrol - kill kurzen and the troll, when channeling is done Mogh's mana is drained and he's an easy kill :p

i couldnt do it and i was a lvl 47 warrior had to get help from a lvl 66 gnome mage. after that it was easy.
