These are a great item, not just for role play realms, just in general. List of uses:

Give to gold beggers.
Give to low levels / or clueless players they'd wonder how they can check their wallet.
Bought an expensive item? Hand this over to people who think you're rich.
Fun item to have and or link in trade chat in the random conversations that pop up.
When somebody asks how to make gold, show them the wallet, 'Don't let your girlfriend get ahold of yours' or something of the like.

There are many great uses for an empty wallet. Frankly I wish the wallets dropped in a wider circumstance instead of just off of defias in Westfall.
