ya these drop from Greater Obsidian Elementals. I got a few of 'em. Don't quite know what i'm gonna do with them though. Thinking about selling them.

I just spent 1/2 an hour farming Rumbling Exiles at the Circle Of Inner Binding in Arathi. Got 6 Elemental Earths and five Deeprock Salt for my trouble.

41,80 confirmed. Lvl 39 and 40. The 39s drop deeprock salt at about half the rate of the 40s, about 7% to 14%. Got two elemental earth and 6 salt in about 30 min, only one salt from the 39s.

I went into Angor Fortress and cleared the whole place and not one deeprock salt was dropped, the Lesser Rock Elementals is the way to go in Badlands.

I got about a 20-25% drop rate from the War Golums in Searing Gorge. 6 deeprock salt from maybe 25-30 kills.

Christmas time in WoW 2007. People on horde side on Bleeding Hollow are selling 1x Deeprock Salt for 9-10 gold a pop. Seems for 5 gold and 1 Deeprock Salt you can get 5x Preserved Holly. I think it is dirty for people to be selling something that normally sells for like 25 silver for this much. But guess what if the market supports it. I damn well will be farming this stuff and selling it also. Try Badlands and the Earth Elementals there for best drops.

can it be mined or crafted? or is it only from a drop that you can get this?
Im a leathercrafter and it seems odd that deeprock salt is the only regent I can't buy from vendor.

This is quite easy to obtain in arathi highlands off rumbling exiles.
