11/03/2018 à 12:42
Battle for Azeroth's story starts out with the Horde exploring Zandalar and the Alliance in Kul Tiras, but we learned during the
Battle for Azeroth Q&A
that there's a special
Chapters of War
leveling campaign that takes you towards the opposite faction's island.
During BFA can Horde characters visit Kul Tiras and Alliance characters visit Zandalar. Are there camps for both factions in each area?
Yes. The Chapters of War leveling campaign will work you towards the opposites faction's island and give you backstory on what's going on there, the inhabitants and other details.
While currently in the Battle for Azeroth alpha, the Horde are limited to Zandalar and the Alliance limited to Kul Tiras, there's some datamined quests and broadcast text pointing towards parts of this new story.
Potential Story Spoilers.
Alliance in Nazmir
The Alliance, led by the Dwarves, attempt to befriend the Blood Trolls. This appears to be a bad idea as we've learned through the Horde Storyline that the Blood Trolls worship the corrupted Titan experiment G'huun...who may even be an Old God.
We sent Captain Conrad ahead to build a fort. They say the blood trolls here might even be willin' ta trade, but I cannae imagine that'd come at a price worth payin'.
Still, this here's a land that works 'gainst the Zandalari and their Horde associates. The enemy of yer enemy is yer... wait, what's that sayin'?
No matter. Look. Listen. Keep those sharp eyes peeled. Unforgivin' lands aren't known ta forgive the unwary, $n.
And... eugh... keep yer nostrils pinched. What's that foul-as-death rottin' stench?
Looks like our welcome party is here. Harry's an interestin' one. Don't pay him no mind.
We've been expecting you, our esteemed advisors and future fast friends.
Captain Conrad left me with instructions.
Where's the Captain?
Ah! Ah ha! Right to the point, yes, yes. Not to worry! All is in order. Let's retire to safer environs behind our fort's walls, yes?
Alright, no sign o' the Captain then. What's goin' on?
Nothing untoward, I assure you! Our glorious Captain is off negotiating trade agreements with the local trolls.
Heard they were savages wot practice bloody sacrifices.
Oh heavens! Well, indeed, yes. I suppose that is accurate, mmm. But Captain Conrad is a glory to behold. Impressive, no doubt.
Trade agreements with trolls! We even have bats prepared to send another trade offering to Zala'mar.
Blast that! They won't get another red copper from us before me an' $n go see what's what.
What's this all about, Harry?! Those offerin's you were sendin'... The soldiers were sacrificed! Blood drained from their bodies like a mug o' ale at Brewfest.
<Harry's blood drains from his face.>
My... oh my goodness. Surely the esteemed Captain Conrad had no knowledge of these macabre circumstances.
Knowledge or no, it's time to get to the bottom o' this. Where'd this Captain head off to?
Zul'Nazman, I believe. Or Tul'vor? In fact I believe they are one in the same. Or nearly so.
Captain Conrad... is well, I trust?
WELL?! That lassie was madder than a murloc on moon mead. Tried to sacrifice our lovely $c here to some blood god called G'huun.
Oh dear. That is much worse than I feared. My deepest apologies for putting you in such a risky situation, sir Bronzebeard.
Eh, not the worst I've seen. Still a sad story, though. We'll need to dispatch a messenger to let the High Commander know what transpired.
Look to the horizon, <name>. Across those seas is the isle of Zandalar and with it, the Horde. We can't allow the Horde to continue to work there unchecked, so we're preparing an expedition to establish a beachhead on the isle. <name>, as one of our most accomplished soldiers I'd appreciate if you joined us. Your help will be essential for the success of our mission. Wrap up your affairs here in the harbor and report to Grand Admiral Jes-Tereth. We will set sail when you're ready.
We sent troops ahead to Nazmir to gain a foothold in that hellish jungle. The reports we've been receiving of the local troll population are... disconcerting. They're in over their heads, <name>. I have Brann Bronzebeard prepped and ready to head out. Accompany Brann to Nazmir so we can secure our position. The Wind's Redemption is at your disposal.
The currents here are strong, we're going to need a well-built harbor for our camp. The ruins across the way should be perfect for our needs. I don't know what's out there so I'm sending out the marines to secure the shore and as the most experienced soldier here I want you to go with them. Here, take this flare gun with you. If you run into anything beyond what you can handle use it and we'll send in an artillery strike from the ship. Now, go take that harbor in the name of the alliance!
Alliance Attack in Zuldazar
The Alliance appear to attack Zuldazar but their ship is destroyed.
I can't believe any of them survived the wreck. I just assumed Ranger Lord Blightcaller was being overly cautious. The orders were to ensure there were no survivors. Well? What are you waiting for? An engraved invitation?
This is a complete disaster. It's bad enough that the prisoners got away. It's even worse that our ship was destroyed and we have no way back to Stormwind. And now the forsaken have shown up and are preventing us from saving our people. All my soldiers are either injured, exhausted, or in no shape for fighting. You look hearty. Kill the Horde and push them back.
Da weapons of fallen enemies be a great prize. Da Horde always be looking for trophies from victories, and dis be a great victory. Go and gather their fallen weapons, for the glory of da Horde.
The Alliance also appear to be fighting over mysterious archaeology relics in Zuldazar. There is a Dark Iron camp as well as a Nightborne Horde camp with a similar goal.
Our allies in the Explorer's League have alerted us to an exciting find. They have set up camp in the Xibala region of Zuldazar. Make your way to the camp and help them uncover anything that may advance our cause.
Oi. Since yer hands are already dirty, what do ye say we make a deal? To give it to ye straight, there's a relic here called the Breath of Xibala. I don't know who Xibala is or why the Alliance wants its breath, but there's a hefty sum of gold in it fer me if we deliver. That means there's somethin' in it for you, too, if ye get my meanin'. I started a survey with me equipment but haven't got me results yet. Go on out into the ruins an' give the boxes you see a little kick to hurry things along.
I want to take m'boys out and really dig our picks in, but every scout I've sent into the ruins just came back half mauled to death. Some didn't come back at all. From what I can tell, the ruins are home to more'n just these spiky grass-eaters. Do you think you could be a peach an' thin their numbers a bit? I'd caution ye against tamperin' with the local ecology an' all, but in the interest of not gettin' eaten I think I'll let ye make the call.
Suppose I owe the lass her bones if I'm t'be monopolizin' yer time. And I will be. Go on out into the ruins an' use this here stone to call one of my rumbly elemental friends. They'll blast away any dirt 'tween you an' the fossils. We could go about this the ol' fashion way, but do you really want to spend all day digging? Course ye don't. Acadia will see that a little efficiency gets everyone what they want.
The Nightborne also have similar quests, such as
Miss Tae'shara and I share a passion for uncovering hidden secrets and a deep, abiding respect for this ancient land. That said! If we were to continue at the pace to which she is accustomed, the Alliance would overtake us before we could make a single discovery. It is time to expedite our survey. The ruins hide many fossils. Take a beacon and use it to summon one of my sweepers. It will clear away the topsoil and allow you to collect samples. Gather what you can- we can assemble them later.
Horde in Drustvar
The Orcs and Goblins are in Drustvar. They appear to be conflicted as to the purpose of their mission - acquire military intel or make a profit.
It seems the coven here has "employed" the manor's chefs to create rather unsavory dishes. It would best to eliminate them as soon as possible.
One of the coven's top witches is sacrificing acolytes in an effort to gain more power. Destroy her and show this group that only the Dark Lady holds dominion over death.
A large crow has been charmed by this coven for use against the villagers. While I have no love lost for the residents of Drustvar, its feathers would make for excellent fletches for our dark rangers.
Alright fellas, hop on the hog. It's time to go see what this Drustvar place is all about... and how we can profit from it.
Profit is a secondary concern. Our primary mission is to gather intel so we can gain an advantage over the Alliance.
Pfsh. I'm only here for the azerite. Whatever recon you wanna do is your own prerogative.
You's a hard <race> to find, <name>. Nice, uhh... nice swamp you got here. Listen. I got a real hush-hush, covert ops, special forces type o' job for you. You've been selected to escort Trade Prince Gallywix himself... into Alliance territory! I can tell you're SUPER-busy dealin' with blood trolls and all, but, well... you better not keep the Trade Prince waiting too long.
This was supposed to be a covert operation. Unfortunately, our Trade Prince insisted on coming along... with the loudest, most conspicuous vehicle the Horde has ever conceived. At least you're here with me, <name>. Let's get going, then. We know next to nothing about the Drustvar territory. It's time to do some recon.
