Story spoilers in this post.
Deep in the Swamp
You and I gonna go ahead and start takin' down any blood trolls we see. This be the start of our campaign ta end 'em. These monsters want me kingdom and its people destroyed, so we gonna destroy them first. Me father thinks that the blood troll threat just be goin' away on its own, like it did in the past. But tings be different now. Rokhan and the others be movin' north of here to establish a camp for us ta stay in, then they be joinin' us in da fight. Ya ready?
Now you see what me father refuses ta acknowledge. The blood trolls are beatin' us... and they need ta be stopped. Our plan be simple, <name>. We gonna go out there and kill as many of these blood trolls as we can. You go east, I go north. You meet with me aftewards and we see what's left to do. We gonna teach these blood trolls to fear the Zandalari!
The blood trolls be gatherin' the corpses of me people to use 'em for their blood magic. This ends today. I be takin' care of the corpses here. Take this torch. Its fires be blessed by priests of Bwonsamdi, the loa of death. Burn any corpses of me people that you see. Each corpse burned be meanin' less power for these monster's blood magic.
The loas be smilin' on us today. The "matriarch" of these blood trolls, a sick monster named Ateena, be up ahead. We got a change in plans, <name>. We gonna end this entire threat now. We kill Ateena and the blood trolls be thrown into chaos. She be a powerful hexxer. You start the fight and I be ambushin' to catch her off guard. Let's get movin'. We gonna be back in Zuldazar before the day is over.
I be feelin' Ateena's dark voodoo up ahead. We need to keep movin' to try and stop her. Be ready for anyting up ahead, <name>. We no know what this "G'huun" dat she spoke about is. But I be knowin' one thing. If it be threatenin' me people, then it gonna die, just like Ateena.
The blood trolls be stronger than ever, thanks ta this G'huun... and now they be empowering a giant construct! We need a plan to destroy that construct, G'huun, and the blood trolls. It's not going to be easy. But I have an idea.
There! Torga, the turtle loa. He be wise and benevolent. It be easy to get his aid. Let’s see who else be here…
The frog loa, Krag’wa…he be in Nazmir! He be a strong loa who no put up with the evil of blood trolls.
Ah, Hir’eek, the bat loa…he must be somewhere in Nazmir. He be cunning’…he can be known’ how to stop this.
Bwonsamdi…the loa of death. He be a powerful loa, but dangerous…always makin’ deals.
I be feel in’ his power…he be close. Closer than all the other loa.
You! You can be helpin' me! I know, Sur'jan, <he/she> looks like a <class>, but I know we can be trustin' <him/her>. Urok, the terror of the wetlands, be undead now. We gotta be puttin' it down before it tries to destroy this entire place. Just be givin' me a minute and you be seein' this Urok be bad news. Shhh, Sur'jan, they gonna see, they're all gonna see!
I be needin' my power back if we gonna kill Urok. He beat me bad last time I tried to put him down. You help me get my power back and I help you make Urok dead. Deal? First step, I need ya to use this dagger to absorb what be left of the life force of any crocolisk ya kill. When the dagger seem to be fill, come find me. Heh heh, that's right Sur'jan, they gonna help us, then Urok see who the strongest is!
I need more things to help me get strong. I need ya to get me some of dem saurid teeth. No, Sur'jan, you ain't trustin' <him/her> TOO much, it just be enough. I ain't gonna be betrayed again. I be needin' these teeth for a ritual I'm gonna perform, help me get me power back. Once I ain't so weak, you and me are gonna take down this undead monster.
I'm feeling... stronger! But I be needin' more power before we take down Urok. No, Sur'jan, YOU be scared of Urok more than me, I ain't scared of nothin'! You got an attachment to me now after that ritual. I need ya to go kill them skyterrors nearby. Their deaths will be fuelin' me strength. Take me grapplin' hook. You can be draggin' them skyterrors down from the sky with it, and it'll put the hurt on 'em too.
Sur'jan, I should be doin' this! What do ya mean I need to recover? Bah, fine. I be needin' more power, and the skyterrors be havin' eggs nearby. I need ya to bash some of their eggs to fuel me energy. Them eggs got lots of life force in 'em, you destroy them and I be feelin' the energy comin' back to me. Come on, Sur'jan, this be easy, I can be doin' this! Hmph... well, ya make a good point, ya always were the smarter one out of us.
There be a real big skyterror that I be namin' Jarkadiax. I be needin' his tongue... What's that Sur'jan? Not his tongue? His eye? Ya sure? Hrm. I be needin' his eye for me next ritual. I know what ya thinkin', tongue make more sense, that's what I- Look Sar'jun, I still think it be his tongue. We'll see which of us is right! Go get Jarkadiax's eye and bring it back ta me for da next ritual.
I feelin' my power returning, but we ain't done yet. We need more power if we gonna kill this undead Urok. We gonna be pushin' in to Urok's lair. Dreadticks be swarmin' in the area. I want you ta bring me their blood for the final ritual. Take dis. It be me trusty dreadtick gasser. Ya throw it in area, dreadticks sniff it... den DEAD! Hahaha! Now get goin'! ...Sur'jan, you keep tellin' me to let <him/her> do this sorta work, but I could do it too! Fine, I'll just work on gettin' the ritual ready.
If we gonna fight Urok, I'm gonna need me gear back. It all got lost when I be runnin' from Urok da first time. Shut UP Sur'jan! I had ta ditch it in order ta run faster. Bring me gear back ta me and I be ready ta fight Urok with ya.
This be it! Me power be back, we ready to put down Urok. He used ta be a noble beast, you know, big, strong. Now Urok just a mindless undead. It ain't right. We gonna put him ta rest. I'm gonna run up ahead. When you get near Urok, I'll be hoppin' out ta ambush him. Let's do this! Shut up, Sur'jan, of course we gonna win! If we don't, I just be findin' another <class> to help me out.
We got four loa, but we only be knowin' where one is: Bwonsamdi. As uncomfortable as it makes me, I'm prepared to do anything to stop the blood trolls - even if it means dealing with the loa of death. Ages ago Bwonsamdi had a temple here in Nazmir. My scrying has revealed a few locations to the north where I sense a magical presence. Search them for clues. Hurry, <name>, Zuldazar will fall if we can't obtain Bwonsamdi's help!
Only two types enter Bwonsamdi's temple anymore, those looking to make a deal with death and de dead. You do not stink, so I guess you are de former. I am headed to de temple myself, so how about a trade?
See de land across de bridge? There be a witch named Najima dat I have been tracking. De blood trolls be corrupt to de core, but der souls are useful for offerings to Bwonsamdi. She is too strong for me to deal with, but if you can slay her, I will take you to de temple. I give you my word.
Dis be a sacred place ta Bwonsamdi, but now it be little more than a ruin. Even da spirits be unable ta escape da passage of time and have faded away leaving only der drained husks behind. Return them ta life, we will. Here, I've been collecting da souls of me hunt's into dis charm. Use it on da drained spirits and we'll be bringing dis place back ta what it once was.
One a our scouts, Jo'chunga, be infiltratin' da blood trolls, but we no be hearin' back from him. I need ya help ta find Jo'chunga and see what he be findin' out about them blood trolls. If ya gonna find him, ya need ta sneak in by lookin' like one of da blood troll women. Dey be da ones with da most freedom ta move around. I got a ritual that can changin' ya. Help me set up da ritual ta get you lookin' like a blood troll.
I know, you might be thinkin', nothin' be changed, but trust me, da voodoo worked. ... I tink. Ya should transform into one of dem blood trolls when ya get near Zala'mar, one of dere villages. Jo'chunga should be dere somewhere, most likely near a large gatherin' of blood trolls. Find Jo'chunga and tell him I be sendin' ya, den see what he knows about da situation dere.
Hir'eek, da loa of da bats, be corrupted by G'huun! We no be gettin' help from her. We only got one option if dey got a loa on dere side... we gotta kill Hir'eek. It be crazy, and we both probably die, but I got a plan. We gotta isolate dis place first. Da blood trolls got wardrummers dat be soundin' an alarm if anytin' happens in dis place. We need 'em gone... but ya gotta be sneaky about it. Ya got a good disguise, so ya can just go and order dem drummers ta go away from dere posts.
Ya gonna have ta blend in if ya don't want anyone gettin' suspicious. This ain't gonna be pretty. Dere be drudges around da camp dat be tied up as part of a ritual. Dey get beaten as a test ta make 'em stronger. Any a dem dat fail da ritual are sacrificed. Da ones dat succeed are allowed ta fight da Zandalari. If ya gonna blend in, ya need ta "test" dese drudges as part of da ritual. It be weird, but dat's how dey work.
Now we got room for our plan ta kill Hir'eek. Ya see, <name>, me specialty be in makin' potions and poisons. I be workin' on a poison ta use on Hir'eek, when da time comes. I got no idea if it be workin' or not. I want ya ta take what I already made and use it on dem bats around here. It should kill 'em instantly. If it be workin', den I can make it stronger with me voodoo and be givin' us a chance ta kill Hir'eek.
Dere be three witches in da camp dat got talismans empowered by Hir'eek. I need ya ta get me dem talismans ta use after ya prove me poison works perfectly. I be usin' da essence a Hir'eek in dem talismans ta make me own poison strong enough ta use against da loa. If me poison doesn't work... well, I ain't thinkin' on that. It's gonna work, 'cause we need it to. Just go get dem talismans and I'll be here hidin' from da blood trolls.
Hir'eek know we be here. If me knowledge of Hir'eek be right, he gonna personally kill us after we present ourselves. It be time, den. You and me gonna walk outta here ta a horde a blood trolls, wantin' ta watch dere loa kill us. Take dis dagger. It be coated with da poison I be makin'. I trust ya ta survive longer dan me ta use it. Ya pretend ta cower ta Hir'eek, and I be doin' da talkin'. On my signal, ya jump on Hir'eek and start stabbin'! ... and den we hope for da best.
I be hurt real bad... I don't tink I can be movin'. Don't worry, I got some potions dat can be healin' me... slowly. Hir'eek be just down da hall dere. Da poison injured it, but it be a loa and it gonna take more than dat ta take it down. I no believe we... YOU gonna kill a loa. It just not someting we do, but Hir'eek serves G'huun, we got no choice! It be all up to ya now. Kill Hir'eek and end dis madness!
It be sad dat Hir'eek had ta die, but at least da blood trolls be weaker now. Me potions be healin' me up nicely. I did some looking around and came across dis guy. He be skittish, but he no be hostile. I tink ya can use him ta get out of here. Hurry up and jump on before he breaks da rope! I find me own way out, you no have ta worry.
A Pact with Death
A deal is a deal, and I pay my debts. Bwonsamdi is a mighty loa and you are going to need a powerful ritual to obtain his attention. You are in luck. I already know exactly what needs to be done. Bwonsamdi's temple, de Necropolis, is just to de north. Meet me in de courtyard and we shall see about obtaining an audience with de loa of death.
Everything for da ritual be together, now it time ta begin. For dis ta work I must chant da words of old. It be an exhausting task, so I be needin' you ta take me mojo fetish an draw da ritual circle, then beat upon da drums. If all goes well, Bwonsamdi may invite us into da temple. If not, our souls be forfeit. Let's not be makin' any mistakes.
Bwonsamdi knows why you be here, you be seeking my favor. <Bwonsamdi ponders you silently.> A test, ta see if you be worth Bwonsamdi's time. There be spirits whose prayers sing of something called "G'huun", dey pay me homage no more. I will not allow de desecration of me own temple! Go and subdue da strongest of da ancient spirits.
If you do this for me, you may be worth da trouble after all.
Ever since da spirits have begun calling upon this "G'huun" me temple has been covered with the unbearable taint of the undead. Da undead be an abomination, but da bloodstones that create them be powerful. They could be of use ta Bwonsamdi. If you wish ta show me your fervor, then cleanse me temple of their filth and bring me their bloodstones.
Da spirits of da faithful flock to me temple. You see them out there, yes? They come ta enter da Other Side an join my realm. However, spirits who've turned der backs upon Bwonsamdi, they too have come to me temple grounds. Dey praise one called "G'huun", and spread der blood magic desecration across da Necropolis. This ends now! Go out there and remove de desecrations that be infesting me temple.
I not be knowin' who you are but I need your help. My precious Valjabu always told me he didn't care dat he took da vows of a priest, we would be together forever. Well, me time came to pass and I knew I not be able to go on without 'em. I came back and been wanderin this spot for... it seem forever and Valjabu never showed! I be walkin' around this world for far too long. Please, I be beggin' you, bring a memento of my Valjabu back ta me!
Where's me ma'da? Ya seen her? I be right back, she said. I be good girl, I wait. I wait and wait, I not be sure how long I be waitin' here for. It be cold and lonely here. Hey... could you help me find ma'da? I swear I not cause you any trouble.
Matron Shazula says: Wretched child! My bargain with Bwonsamdi was ta live in exchange for ya soul! You gonna ruin everything!
You did well with me tasks. I be thinkin' you show promise. You might be worthy of a deal. Very well, I pledge ta lend you my powers ta use against your foes. In exchange, you be sendin' one million souls ta Bwonsamdi! No need ta look shocked, you be plenty capable of doing this. Come, meet with me at the Court of Spirits. There we will finalize our agreement.
At the Court of Spirits, Grand Ma’da Ateena ambushes Bwonsamdi. The ritual is not complete, but Bwonsamdi still pledges his aid. He now realizes the large threat of the Blood Trolls.
Now, it be time for you to leave. There be many of them blood troll souls for you to be sendin' to da Other Side for Bwonsamdi and you not gonna find any more of 'em here.
<name>, maybe you be helpin' me wit' sometin'. Talanji said dat Shadow Hunter Da'jul and her retainer, Kal'dran, ran off ta hunt down a lich named Zardrax. They be goin' off ta a place called Burial Mound. I be worried dey be in over dere heads. Can ya check ta see if dey be needin' help? We can't be losin' any of our allies in dis place.
Good to be seein' you in one piece, <name>. Nazmir be a place of nightmares, but you be survivin' just fine. Rokhan and me convinced your Horde that we need more support. He's gettin' ready to meet with reinforcements. I still want to be gettin' the loa's aid. What's happened with ya gettin' help from Bwonsamdi and Hir'eek?
Ah... a <class>. Ya be <name>... I hearin' whispers a ya name. Maybe ya be smarter dan these two. Zuldazar gonna fall ta da blood trolls. Ya be knowin' this. Ya can be saved if ya promise ta be servin' me. I can be givin' ya more power than ya ever imagined. Listen to what I can be offerin' ya…
This lich, Zardrax, be tryin' ta corrupt us ta join his side, <name>. I ain't fallin' for it, and I know how ta be stoppin' it. He be gatherin' power from them mounds of skeletons. We gotta burn 'em ta cut Zardrax off a some power. I be strong in da fire mojo, I can be impartin' some of me connection to da fire to ya ta burn dem mounds. I be stayin' here with Kal'dran. I tink Zardrax be gettin' ta him.
Ah! Oh, it be you, <name>. Zardrax got me on edge, sayin' we all be doomed, dat dere be no hope. I once be havin' a plan ta stop him. All we had ta do was kill a hexxer, Nana'kwug, who be helpin' spread Zardrax's power, and steal da fetish she be usin'. Den ya give dat fetish ta Da'jul and he be usin' his voodoo ta get us more power. But it be hopeless now. Maybe we should just be sidin' with Zardrax. How can we stop someting as big as dis?
When we first got here, I found a whole buncha problems on da other side a Zardrax's barrow. Dere be dese monstrous zombies walkin' around da area. We gotta take 'em down ta make sure they don't get ta Zuldazar. I used me voodoo to be modifyin' dat fetish ya just found. Use dis new fetish ta weaken and kill dem zombies.
I no be doin' this anymore! You and Da'jul be WRONG! We no be stoppin' Zardrax! I be leavin' and you no stoppin' me. Zardrax be savin' us all from destruction, givin' us new power!
Dere be skeletons dat be funnelin' blood magic inta Zardrax's barrow. Me guess be Zardrax created dem ta help gather more power. Ya gotta kill dese skeletons if ya want any shot a killin' dis lich. He should be gettin' weaker if he ain't havin' dem as a source a power. I be stayin' here in da meantime ta be watchin' our backs, no tellin' if dere be blood trolls comin' ta attack us.
We can't be focusin' on da loss of Kal'dran. He be givin' up hope, dat ain't someting we gonna do. This be da time ta strike at Zardrax, his power be waning. Go inta da heart of his barrow and destroy him, once and for all. Dat should show dem blood trolls who dey messin' with! I'd help ya, but I be weakened from da blood trolls dat be attackin' me when ya were gone. Don't worry 'bout me, I can still be handlin' dem animals if dey come back.
<You find a torn Horde missive on the ground...> <It appears that a group of forsaken, led by a man named Chadwick Paxton, were sent here to investigate Nazmir.> <You're unable to discern why they were sent here, but there are coordinates that indicate where they were going.> <You may be able to find the scouts at the coordinates and enlist their aid in fighting the blood trolls.>
I seem to be in a bit of a... predicament. My squad was scouting on behalf of Lady Sylvanas when we were ambushed by some snake men calling themselves "sethrak". As you can see, my legs have been separated from my body in the ambush. It's just a flesh wound, luckily. Care to help me get re-attached? Then we can get down to this business of vengeance against whatever these sethrak are.
Right then. First order of business, rescue the remnants of my company. The sethrak killed most of us, but they took some hostages. I'd like them back, if you please. I'll be sure to put in a good word with Lady Sylvanas, once this is all over. ... not that someone like you needs it.
These things called the sethrak think that we're easily handled. That's only because we were ambushed and not ready for a fight. Well, alright, perhaps we were easily handled. But that doesn't mean we won't strike back. Kill as many of those sethrak as you can. I don't know who they are or what they want, but I do know one thing. They signed their death warrants when they attacked my squad and cut me in half.
Heh heh... thanks for the rescue! I could use your help in a little plan that I have. The commander of this place is a sethrak called Sithis. He's got this thing called a Skycaller Gem. Word is they're looking for some sort of shadow magic in Nazmir to try and really power this thing up. Heh heh... luckily yours truly has her own shadow magic to do just that! Maybe you do, too, I don't keep up on what powers you keep getting. Get the gem from Sithis and we'll have some REAL fun afterwards.
The sethrak seem to believe there's something in Nazmir that can unlock the destructive power of this gem. We don't have that, but we have the next best thing. An insane warlock who is willing to experiment with magic. Speak with Ingrid and have her begin the process to unlock the true power of this gem.
It appears the sethrak are quite serious about keeping this gem. I do wonder where they found it in the first place. Hrm... perhaps Lady Sylvanas would be interested in this as well. Something to ponder. Ingrid believes this gem can unleash lightning and shadow magic of, her words not mine, epic proportions. I do believe it would be best for everyone if you tested it out on the small sethrak army currently looking for us.
Name's Lashk. We're not here to join any cause, we just want to hear Torga's legendary stories. I don't know if he'll help, but you can try persuading Torga, loa of the turtles, and see if he'll help you fight these blood trolls. You can join on our pilgrimage to Torga, just keep quiet. Follow the path and find Kisha, she'll tell you where to go.
I hate this place! I just want to go home, but I can't because that oaf, Shoak, is missing. Listen, <race>t, I'll make it worth your while if you help me find that dunce. I've got a way to find Shoak, but of COURSE these stupid totems are blocking my magic! Why wouldn't they? Take this scroll and use its magic to burn these totems. I'm going to look around to see if that bonehead is just sleeping somewhere.
Shoak and I have had a few run-ins with the Natha'vor trolls. Must be why they wanted to capture that idiot. The women in that tribe actually eat the men... and anyone else they can get their hands on. I'm sure they're getting ready to eat Shoak. Do us all a favor and kill some of those cannibals. The world would be a better place without them.
Of course the Natha'vor trolls have Shoak! Why would it be easy? I'm sick and tired of running from these trolls. That's why you're going in to end this. The Natha'vor trolls have three powerful troll witch doctors called "corpse mongers". Take them out and you'll send the tribe into disarray. Of course, this could all fail spectacularly and make my terrible day even worse.
I don't know what stupid thing Shoak did to get captured by the Natha'vor trolls, we'll find out once you rescue him. I bet they're getting ready to make a meal out of Shoak. You need to work fast and get him out! Shoak's one of the largest oafs that I know, those trolls won't be happy that you're taking their "meal" away.
As you try to find Torga, you learn he is now dead thanks to the Blood Trolls.
We gotta talk to Torga's spirit and find out what exactly happened here... and how we be stoppin' it. You be sayin' that you be linked to Bwonsamdi now, yeah? It be time to test that link. We need Bwonsamdi to get us Torga's spirit.
Dere be blood trolls swarmin' all over this place. Dey really be pickin' Torga clean. Go out dere and kill some blood trolls inside a da beast if ya want ta be talkin' ta Torga's spirit. You can be callin' it an act a good will on me part, since I already gotcha down for bringin' me lots a dere souls!
I be feelin' somethin' dark and powerful bein' summoned in the husk of Torga. You need to stop it! There must be some sorta summoner usin' Torga's blood to finish a ritual. Do what you can ta be stoppin' them. I be stayin' here to keep these tortollan safe from the blood trolls.
This whole thing is crazy, you know that? I don't think any story can top this one... Bah! Do you hear that insufferable sound? It's those stupid dreadticks sucking on Torga's meat. Makes my skin crawl! What? You can't hear it? Meh, trust me, they're around, and they need to be taken care of. Here, take this scroll. We've had to deal with these dumb insects in the past. Read it near them and it'll cause them to explode.
Ya be livin' up ta part a the bargain, I be ready to show ya what remains of Torga's soul. After dat, I be headin' back. Ya always welcome ta call on me again... but only if ya got another deal ready.
Spirit of Torga: Your enemies rally behind Ju’ngo. This foul spawn of G’huun draws strength from my very lifeblood.
The monster is fed by encampments surrounding my…remains. Destroy the camps, and you may weaken J’ngo enough win victory.
You heard Torga. We need to be takin' the fight to the blood trolls if we gonna be stoppin' this herald of G'huun. The trolls be havin' their monstrous crawgs, in a camp nearby. We destroy them, we weaken the blood trolls! The rest of us be movin' ahead to find out what else the blood trolls have planned around this place.
You know what's just as important as killing the herald of G'huun? Getting our stuff back! The trolls have been taking our people AND our relics. I saw some trolls just TOSSING them into chests, like they were nothing! I need you to get our relics back before those idiots break them. They don't make relics like this anymore! Oh, also. Holbrook had an important thing called the "Scroll of Fate's Hand". See about getting that back, we'll need it.
If Torga wants us to help you kill the herald of G'huun, then I guess we'll help. First, we need to rescue our people. I found out that the blood trolls are draining the blood of our friends nearby and then feeding them to crawgs! This is no way for a tortollan to die, not after hundred of years gathering stories on Azeroth. Take this scroll. It'll purge whatever blood magic the blood trolls using on my friends. Be careful with my scroll! I want it back in one piece.
I got some good news and bad news for you about this whole quest to destroy the herald of G'huun. Bad news first. There's an entire army of skeletons between us and the next area. I'm guessing they used Torga's blood to animate them. Good news is that scroll you recovered from Holbrook can summon the powerful Hand of Fate. ... and the bad news is that the scroll got damaged when Holbrook died and is only good for one more use. Meh. Take this scroll and destroy that skeleton army!
Princess Talanji thinks we're almost ready to kill this herald of G'huun. Maybe she's right, maybe we're all dead, who knows? What I do know is the blood trolls here are... are carving and carrying away parts of Torga. Ugh! From what I can tell, they're using poor Torga's meat to power their blood rituals. This has to stop! Go out there and steal those pieces of meat from the blood trolls. I'll figure out a way to dispose of it.
We be so close to weakenin' this avatar, <name>. This be our final push. There be loads of blood magic nearby. While you been fightin' all this time, I been working on creating totems that can be cleansin' the area of blood magic. Take these totems and place them in areas nearby. They should be drainin' some of the blood magic out of the area. That avatar should be weak enough for us to actually kill after all this.
Look, <name>, I'll be happy once we've killed this avatar and we can have things go back to normal. Until then, you need to deal with these monstrous blood trolls called "skullcrushers". Lovely, right? As far as I can tell, these things have some sort of connection to this avatar, might be why they're so huge. You kill these skullcrushers and maybe we weaken this avatar a bit more. Or maybe it gets even angrier and kills us all. We'll have to see.
This be it, <name>. The blood magic be weakened enough that we can actually be hurtin' the avatar of G'huun. It's gonna be takin' all of us fightin' this thing to stop it. We all gonna meet ya inside of there. We can't be losin' here. If the blood trolls control Torga's blood, then there be no way for us to be stoppin' them.
Well, we did it. Doesn't make the plan we had any less crazy. But there's still one more thing left to do. I've been visiting Torga for years. He told me stories of powerful scrolls, one in particular that he said was meant to be used to put a loa's spirit to rest. I think you should be the one to read it. I mean, if you're SMART enough to read it. Bah! Just take the scroll and read it before I have second thoughts.
A Friend of the Frogs
There's only one safe area in Nazmir that this Rokhan and your other horde friends could be in. Gloom Hollow. Lucky for you, it's also close to Krag'wa's den. We used Gloom Hollow as a last stop on our pilgrimage. Make your way to Gloom Hollow along the path I've marked on your map, and tell any tortollans along the way to meet us there. They'll be interested in seeing the end of this story. Kisha and I will make our way there and grab anyone else we find.
Da loa be powerful, but we be needin' soldiers if we gonna have a chance of stopping dem blood trolls from building that giant of theirs. If we not able ta destroy dat thing before it be finished den Zuldazar and all of our people gonna be dead! We need da help of da Horde! Word of da situation already be sent to da warchief. As soon as we be hearin' her reply, we can mov... Wait... what be dat noise?
There be trouble brewin', mon. Da blood trolls be on da move! Dey set up a large camp nearby and have been sending a small force to da isle south of here. If they discover our position while we have no defenses, it gonna be game over! We need to see what they be up to and get rid of them. Our best bet be ta investigate da isle south a here. You want ta join me? I be ready ta head out.
Please, help us, mon. da Frogmarsh be under siege! Me master, da great loa, Krag'wa, he not willing ta bend to da will of da blood trolls and dere dark god, so now they be takin' his power by force! They slayin' his children, they takin' his totems of power. They gonna even take Krag'wa and sacrifice him if we not be able ta end this madness! Stop them! Slay the invaders and their leader. Perhaps that be slowin' them down for a while. It be givin' me time ta find a more permanent solution.
The blood trolls seek to weaken Krag'wa, take his power. They steal his idols of power to crack open and feed their magic. Salvage what idols you can, they will be needed to make Krag'wa strong. Strong enough to fight them off once and for all perhaps.
You... I saw you speak with Zentimo. Please, I don't have much time left... These trolls, they came for our blood. I was already nearly bled dry before this one succumbed to my poison. Search it's body, the blowgun and darts should still be there. Dip the darts into my blood and use them to weaken as many of their number as you can. I will not let my death be in vain! If these trolls want our blood so badly, then they shall have it!
I am Krag'wa, the once mighty. Curse the blood trolls and their dark god! They have slain my worshippers until only Zentimo remained, and now even he is gone. I want revenge on the blood trolls, but first I must honor the last of my houngan. As I have no others, I must request you perform the ritual. Then we can talk of revenge.
The blood troll attacks have not stopped until now. They have weakened me significantly and I need to get my strength back. My followers used to bring me offerings of meat from the nearby lands. Go and bring back a mighty feast. My strength will return and we will stop these attacks once and for all.
Long ago when the trolls began listening to the whispering darkness, I instilled portions of my power into the totems that surround my lair. I need that power now. In the swamps north of here are glowflies. Their magical essence will aid me in drawing the stored power from the totems. Collect them and return. Then you will see what I was capable of at the height of my strength.
<This frog has several wound inflicted by naga spears. You can hear the sound of combat nearby. The naga are attacking Krag'wa's frogs! Killing some of the naga should help Krag'wa's followers. You'll have to get to the bottom of what the naga are planning.>
Da naga be takin' da most powerful champions of Krag'wa and drainin' dem of dere power. Take dis potion, it be returnin' da power of dem noble frogs. Dey deserve better dan bein' drained by dese snake bastards. I be stayin' here, da naga got in some lucky hits on me... I hope Krag'wa be forgivin' me weakness.
Da naga here are led by a priestess, Zaldraxia. She be da one who wants ta be usin' da power of Krag'wa for herself. Do what I could not and kill dis priestess, show da naga dat Krag'wa ain't a loa to be takin' lightly. I be prayin' ta Krag'wa for ya success.
I am fed and my body is prepared. I can now be instilled with my power of old and for a time will be immune to their blood curses and leeching powers.
Use the magic of the glowflies to channel my power from the totems into me. Soon you will see me restored. Then we will destroy the army that prepares across the river to take all that is mine by force.
Your previous attack has angered the blood trolls. They now send an army to take everything. They are too late! I am Krag'wa! I will not be eaten, I do the eating! Meet me at the edge of Razorjaw River. You will bear witness to my power, and I will bear witness to yours.
Well done, <name>! Before we left I heard that Princess Talanji was headed to Gloom Hollow. She should be there by now. We should be heading back. She would want to hear the tale of your success!
Bring the Boom
I be honest with you, mon. I've little patience for goblins an their antics.
Go meet with their leader and ensure that his crew and the weapon are ready for the assault. Zuldazar gonna' be overran by the blood trolls if we fail.
Good luck, <name>!
Our mission is dead in the water unless we move fast!
I've found the perfect spot for a new base. While I secure the location, I need you to rescue the team and bring them back. We've trained for this a million times. Just direct them toward the rendezvous point and they'll find the way.
We don't have much time, let's go!
Look, the boss might be keeping a level head here, but we should show these naga what happens when you mess with the Gob Squad. Don't you agree?
The naga are sending their Behemoth's to destroy what's left of our ship. Why don't you take my Rocket Launcher and make an example out of them. That'll send the message loud and clear!
While I was scouting out the area, I saw a big armored naga bossing the rest of the snakes around. Call it a hunch, but I'm pretty sure he's their leader.
As long as the Naga have a commander our operations here will be threatened. Take him out.
Look, I'll be honest with you. Our mech, the A.M.O.D., was the best we've ever made. It was mobile. It was powerful. It was one of a kind! What I'm trying to say is, without it, our whole plan is ruined! We have to salvage and rebuild it! That big oaf of a Sea Giant broke the A.M.O.D. apart and scattered its pieces all over the shore. Find its parts and I'll try to hammer them back together.
Our ships are sunk. Our A.M.O.D.'s gone. We've lost a LOT on this mission... and the Bilgewater Cartel don't offer insurance. The debt collectors will be all over us! We gotta make up for these losses. The beach is swarmin' with naga tryin' to collect artifacts from the ruins. How 'bout we grab some of that treasure and make back our money? I'm sure we could find a buyer willing to take 'em off our hands. We'll split the proceeds 80/20. Sounds fair to me.
We got the A.M.O.D. back together. It's a fine piece of equipment, but we're gonna have to give it a tune up. We don't want to end up digging shrapnel out of our rear-ends. Lucky for us, there are a few naga camps remaining along with the giant that broke the gun in the first place. They'll be great for target practice. We'll deploy the A.M.O.D. just outside the building here. After we deploy, go man it. I'll have you fire a few rounds while I tune its gun. Everything'll be fine... unless it isn’t.
It's gonna take a bit to get the gun chassis set up. Who knew lifting big equipment could be so hard?
In the meantime, why don't you go check back with your friends. Make sure everything's ready on their end. I'd hate to drive this gun into ANOTHER ambush because they're not ready.
We almost be ready for our return to Zul'jan. We need to be waitin' on the Gob Squad to get their artillery back here. In the meantime, I want ya to look at somethin'... strange. There be the remnants of some sort of statue near Gloom Hollow. I be swearin' that somethin' is moving inside of it ever since you aided Krag'wa. Go examine this thing and tell me if you be knowin' what it is. Rokhan be sayin' you got experience with this sorta thing.
<This Zandalari appears to be barely holding on. There is a broken dart lying on the ground next to him. He appears to have dropped this bottle before he collapsed. You grab the vial. Could it be some kind of antidote?>
Warmother Nagla is drivin' her forces with a brutality and strength we did not expect. Blood trolls desecrate all dey touch, and are preparin' to wreak havoc on all dat remain. As dey say, "cut off da head, and da beast will be dead". I will have her head as a trophy to show dat our bruddas were avenged!
Just ahead, Chronicler Jabari do be caged, waitin' to become a sacrifice. Brudda by brudda, I see dem taken away, I hear da screams. Blood drained ta feed blood magic, and what was left - food for a beast. He be da only one left, and I don't have da strength to save him yet. Get Jabari outta dere, so we can return to Princess Talanji.
Look, mon, between you and me, dere is no way we will drag my friend outta here without gettin' da samples dat got us in dis mess. We did see three orbs in dis camp. Dey be filled with da power of da blood magic and be used in dirty rituals. Blood is drained from "volunteers" to corrupt da tadpoles of Krag'wa to form vicious crawgs. If dis be a possible fate for children of loa, we must end it. Take dis vial and bleed dem orbs dry. Dere is some research da chronicler needs ta do.
If da young one can be taught to trust, dere is a chance for this species. Dey may have been born of da bad blood, but is that what makes dem a monster? If you can earn his trust, a mighty ally he could one day be. A little care could be da thing, and don't be forgettin' food! I think some blood troll may be extra tasty.
Crawgs that have been battle trained are already set in their ways. Cleansing them from the camp may be the only way to give the young ones a chance.
Dis young one has made the bonding with you. Bring him to Krag'wa. See if there is anything to be done to heal him of the corruption.
Scan of area indicates spirits clad in armor plating roaming area. Purpose: defense of structure, animated by corruption. Detecting remnants of titan plating within spirit's armor. Request: recover remnants. Titan Keeper Hezrel capable of breaking down titan plating to reforge into weapon against forces drawn by corruption.
Unacceptable levels of corruption detected nearby. Scan indicates vegetation affected by corruption. All corruption must be eradicated. Request: destroy any vegetation affected by corruption.
Major system repair possible within nearby structure. Preliminary goal, repair auxiliary systems. Scans detect three fallen titan keepers. Recover cores. Titan Keeper Hezrel able to retrieve data from cores. Titan Keeper Hezrel goal: reboot auxiliary systems, reach nearby structure, restore all primary systems, seal corruption. Result: Corruption contained. Titan Keeper Hezrel able to aid against blood trolls. Blood troll definition not found in databanks.
<You see a strange blood orb that emanates whispers of suffering and destruction.> <These must be the a source of energy for whatever corruption Hezrel is hunting. They appear easy enough to destroy.> <You can see more of these orbs around the temple grounds. Perhaps destroying them will help to weaken the corruption in the area.>
Corruption reanimating dead creatures nearby. Morphing into monstrosities. Must be stopped. Cannot kill all, but can reduce numbers. Reduced numbers equates to less corruption outside of containtment. Destroy undead in surrounding area. Keeper Hezrel's systems will continue rebooting while you do so. Reboot goal: recover data regarding nature of corruption.
Undead entities influenced by corruption surround nearby structure. Impossible to approach. Plan required. Calculating. Plan achieved. Large creatures designed, "Reanimated Monstrosities" focal gathering point of corruption. Take titan weapon forged from plating recovered. Use it to weaken monstrosities and collect bones. Will run process to destroy bones, prevent creation of further monstrosities.
System restoration in progress. Data recovered. Source of corruption is from an old god entity. Multiple entities detected nearby, blocking goal of analyzing and containing corruption in Nazmir. Entities appear to be from the Void. Drawn here from old god corruption. Request to destroy void entities. Void presence inhibiting repair of systems.
Scans indicate errors in reality surrounding nearby structure. Portals directly to the void. Current theory, corruption has old god as source. Void attracted to old god corruption. Portals must be sealed to contain entities lured here by old god corruption. Take this device. Titan Keeper Hezrel has forged it thanks to help in powering up systems. Use device to seal void portals, prevent more void entities from entering area.
System repairs progressing. One key component needed: Containment Protocol. Containment protocol will fully reboot defensive systems. Allow Titan Keeper Hezrel to properly maintain containment. Scans indicate large creature within temple has absorbed slab containing containment protocol. Creature exists between this plane and void. Request: Destruction of creature and retrieval of protocol.
Must scan interior of structure for damage and determine best course for repairs. Have limited time before old god corruption lures more forces. Inform me when you are ready to proceed with operation to restore containment.
PLACEHOLDER SCENE - Hezrel reveals G'huun being an old god, being experimented upon, and reveals blood trolls want to destroy Zuldazar in order to free G'huun. No way of fixing current containment, must protect Zuldazar. Ateena, blood troll matriarch, arrives, badly damages Hezrel, and prepares to strike.
Old god G'huun behind destruction of containment structure. Commanding blood trolls to destroy final one in location, Zuldazar. Titan Keeper Hezrel must aid in destruction of blood trolls. Cannot allow G'huun to be freed. Must leave interior of Atul'nazman. Meet Titan Keeper Hezrel outside of temple, will help return to Gloom Hollow.
Bleeding the Blood Trolls
We got the aid of Krag'wa and the Gob Squad, <name>. We gotta get back to Zul'jan ruins and begin our plan to stop the blood trolls. There just be a problem. The Gob Squad can't be movin' their artillery in the jungle. We gotta take it by boat. You and me are gonna ride along with them and make sure the blood trolls don't destroy the artillery. I'm gonna run ahead and get the boat ready near the riverbank. You hurry and meet us there.
As you sail down the river, the Gob Squad has amusing dialogue:
We're gonna blow your old god up, goblin style!
You're gonna be sleeping with the swamp fishies tonight!
Terrible swamp you all got here, would be real nice if somethin' happened to it!
... I don't know why I believed working with goblins would result in anything other than this.
Well excuse me, princess!
And BOOM goes the bad guy!
Bet we could blow up a whole lotta gnomes with this baby!
Where's your blood god now!
They're blowing up too fast, I can't enjoy this! Well... maybe I can enjoy it a little.
Wakey wakey, time to DIE!
That's how goblins from Kezan roll!
Whoah whoah whoah, nobody said we'd be dealing with undead!
We WORK with undead all the time, you idiot!
Uh, boss, I think what they call the politically correct term is "Forsaken".
Princess, I ain't no expert but I think you guys got a blood troll problem.
How many more of these things do we gotta blow up before they get the message?
Huh, never blew up an old god before. Shoulda brought more explosives!
MORE?! Bring it on!
Got it, princess. You should be thankful to get a front row seat to the latest and greatest of goblin technology!
Uh, boss, there are definitely some screws missing in places that the manual says require screws.
Ha.. ha... manuals are for schmucks, Newt, we're doing this live!
This thing ain't a problem, we just gotta use the ol' curveball!
We got a BIG problem right here!
We have learned so much and came so far thanks to you and the Horde, but all of it will amount to nothing if the Blood Trolls defeat us here. We've all worked hard since we first set foot within this accursed swamp, without a chance to even get any sleep or have a decent meal. They are some of the finest soldiers I've ever encountered, but even they have their limits. Let's remind them what we're fighting for!
It's time to strike out and end the Blood Troll threat once and for all!
We travel back to Bloodfire Ravine and this time it'll be the Blood Trolls who will be sent running.
Mount up, and together we will show them we are a force to be reckoned with!
The Blood Trolls are putting up quite the fight, what's worse is their raising the very dead to go against us! Their necromancers are raising the dead with the help of totems fueled with blood magic. If we can destroy them that should take the pressure off our troops.
My people continue to be captured and hauled into the Blood Trolls village for the slaughter, to be used as fuel for their dark rituals. Just ahead I can see some of the captives who fell along the path, I hear their cries as their being forced to move or the Blood Trolls are doing their vile rituals upon them where they lay. We can't leave my people ta die in the swamp, <name>! Take these bandages and save any Zandalari you encounter down there.
Just look at em, those Blood Trolls are holed up pretty good down there in that fortress of theirs. Multiple defensive lines, lots of equipment, they got everything. They're completely unprepared for us! I almost feel sorry for em! Let's start off by showing em what we think of their cute attempts at making barricades. Here, take this Smoke Grenades and put a signal right on top of those barricades. We'll see how well they hold up to High Explosives!
The soldiers you rescued spoke of the raids on Zandalar. Blood Troll raiders, frothing at the mouth and possessing supernatural strength, overwhelmed the defenders. They say that their strength came from flasks of mojo that the raiders drink before going into combat. Needless to say, we can't allow the blood trolls to continue to possess them. Go down into the camp and destroy any of their flasks you may find.
<This crate looks like it was of Zandalari origin, likely hauled here by the blood trolls after one of their raids. Inside the create you see bags of grain, salt, and meat. These supplies would come in handy... perhaps you might find more supplies in the possession of the blood trolls within the camp.>
It seems our actions here have not gone unnoticed, <name>. I feel a dark presence approaching. Ateena is near! This is our chance! If we strike now then we can deal a huge blow to the Blood Trolls! Let's move!
PLACEHOLDER SCENE - The gob squad arrives and sets up their gun. The gun sets itself into position and fires at the construct.
Shot: Up close view of the gun starting to fire with the construct on the triangulation point in the distance."
"PLACEHOLDER SCENE - The gun fires and impacts, but a magical barrier protects the construct.
Shot: View from near the triangulation point of the shot exploding on a magic barrier. The artillery gun is in the distance."
"PLACEHOLDER SCENE - Grand Mada Ateena, the blood troll matriarch, laughes and taunts you for failing.
Scene: Camera swings down and looks up at Ateena, the construct is shown behind her, protected and unscathed.”
Nothing! I can't believe the weapon had no effect! Damn Ateena and her dark magic! We're going to have to get up there somehow and remove that barrier. I'm afraid sieging fortresses is not something I have much experience with, but that Rokhan of yours... he's seen his share of battles I understand. He might know how best to proceed.
Dez trolls we've faced be strong, but they be nothing compared to what be ahead. Amaka be da strongest Blood Troll I ever seen and she's right across da way there. She be feedin da bodies of da Zandalari to her pet crawgs, making them big, fat, and deadly. It be time for revenge, and we be doin it with da help of her own pets. Go kill a crawg and cut its poison gland out of its belly. With it, you can weaken Amaka and put an end to her.
Da end of da blood trolls be comin' real soon now, but we need a safe path through dis fortress and a meeting point secured. I'll sneak ahead and clear out a meetin' point at da end of dat bridge. You move on and clear da path to me. We almost be done here, just a bit more blood ta spill.
I figured any soldiers we be coming across might be wantin' some revenge, so I brought along some extra weapons just in case. See up ahead? Dem cages up ahead be full of trolls awaitin' der turn ta die. We gonna swoop in der and be da answers to der prayers! Go and arm as many of dem as ya can, revenge gonna be sweet!
<This wand is one of the same that you saw the Blood Trolls use to incinerate the corpses of the Zandalari prisoners when they are done with them. Perhaps, you might be able to use it to give the Blood Trolls a taste of their own firepower.>
You've proven to be a much greater ally than I could have ever hoped. Thanks to you and your horde we've come this far, now there be only one thing that remains. Again, we must confront the leader of da blood trolls and put an end to their dark plot once and for all. Without Ateena's mojo to protect it, we can finally destroy that monstrosity of theirs before it can be unleashed upon Zuldazar. You know what must be done. Go, Rokhan and I will ensure that nothing else comes across the bridge.
"PLACEHOLDER SCENE - Gob Squad cannon fires another shot.
Shot: Up close view of the cannon preparing to fire."
"PLACEHOLDER SCENE - The shot connects, blasting hard into the construct. After a moment, it lists hard and falls over and collapses through the floor.
Finally, Ateena is dead and the blood trolls are leaderless! Still, we would be foolish to believe they are no longer a threat and I have a feeling this is not the last we've seen of that horrible thing they were working on. My father refused to even acknowledge the blood trolls as a threat, but you and your Horde have proven to be invaluable allies. You have my thanks. Your emissary, the one you call Nathanos, would want to hear the news of our victory. You should let him know as soon as you are able.
