Lyllistro- Scarlet Crusade lvl 70 Warlock.
Soloable with no pet, no bandages, no potions, no healthstone, and only Fel Armor for a buff. Did not use fear or bandage on the Captain. If you are a Warlock, feel lucky.

Use a combination of Siphon Life, and Drain Life with Death Coil constantly on cooldown. You will never run out of HP. Then lifetap when low on mana. Nightfall will procc at a ridiculous rate, which adds great damage. Use Shadow Ward every chance you get to keep his hits from being that painful and you can do this one by yourself.

An easy way to slay Dimensius requires a group of two at least, the group goes with the Ethereal Army to attack Dimensius, and when the army is fully killed by Dimensius someone from the group goes back to Captain Saeed, abandons the quest and accepts it again calling Saeed's army to attack Dimensius again, while the others hold combat. While it might seem difficult to hold combat without getting killed, you can actually do this without getting attacked at all, you just need to stand in between the small hallway to the big room in which Dimensius resides. Rinse and Repeat the process of summoning Saeed's army and you should finish after the second or third summoning.

This boss is easy solo-able by hunter. As my "raid team" died , i thought of feigning death to reset , but only to find out that i could shoot from max range near the entrance . Took more than 5mins to take him down from 30% solo . Free quest

The way i did it was simply not killing Spawns cuz he didn't get healed from them but channeled that rain spell which did only liek a 1000dmg once in a min. Soloed as a 70 aff wlock.

Soloed as a 70 destruction warlock in blues/kara epics all i did was send in the "Army" then sit back and spam shadow bolt...he died before all the npcs did

Definitely soloable by any ranged class. Just stand behind of the red line in the doorway, and attack when you can. You take no damage and the battle never ends.

Took me SO LONG with my awful mana pool. Like 10 minutes.

Unable to solo as a protection paladin in my healing gear. We got him down to around 30% before the captain died. Went through 2 mana potions. Toward the end I actually bubbled and ran up and judged Wisdom with Seal of Wisdom active, just to try to get an extra few ounces of healing done.

With a second person, even another protadin, this would be very easily doable.

Also note that if you die while doing this, the respawn isn't even on the same $@%^ island.

So don't be a hero. If you can tell you're not going to make it, back off and run.

I just tried it, and it seems to be behaving a bit different from the above descriptions. Specifically, even though I was standing back in the hallway at max healing range of the NPCs, I was still being hit, and I was being hit throughout the fight.

I still managed to heal myself and 1 NPC for the entire fight until he went down... unfortunately, I'd apparently not gotten the tap on the mob, because it didn't credit me with the kill >.<

Second try was slightly more successful. Instead of healing the NPCs the entire time, I nuked him until most of them were dead, then started healing. Did enough damage to get the tap this time.

Note, all this "I solo him with..." are most likely done by not killing the voidwalker adds.

As soon as you kill them, the boss goes beserk and starts spamming shadow bolts and other stuff that hit for about 1000 dmg (with no resistance).
So just ignore the adds and go full damage on the boss. On occasion he will cast some AoE effect spell that hits quite hard when you're close.
The trick is to keep a good distance, max casting/shooting range would be perfect.
There are a couple of good spots to avoid being hit by the aoe.

I did him with my Balance druid last night, it took some time due to mana problems, but eventually it went down.

I could be wrong at this point, but from I've noticed, is that he only despawns when you leave the manaforge.
This means that technicly any class can solo him.
Warriors and rogues using thrown/shooting weapons, paladin using range spells, etc.

i tried to solo this as a rogue, and my throw hit him for 2-400 and crit for about 500, so if you think about soloing him with your least effective attack then DO KNOW it will take ages...

(grouped with a mage, threw a couple of times then went melee, and found out that this guys hits hard, and he didnt like me very much.. killed me within 10 seconds, but i got quest complete. (even if the rewards suck donkey butt for a rogue)

Soloed Dimensius twice yesterday; second time I ensured I had done a decent amount of damage, and had gotten first damage on the boss. It didn't count him as tapped for me either time. QQ for me I guess, just seems weak that a Holy Paladin successfully damaged and healed the entire event but can't get credit.

Well me and a 69 mage in not-so-great gear duoed this due to my inability to solo it the first time I attempted, While he was just dpsing, I was running around killing the spawns and attacking when possible, either way, its extremely possible to be duoed without a healer or anything, although to avoid blowing cooldowns and potions, I do suggest you not kill the adds (Which makes it hard) and you just get a group of more than two :(

Killing the adds was kinda hard without getting vaulted and not being able to heal. Either way, previous strategies could be combined and what not. Enjoy your solo, duo, trio, 4-man or 5-man!

Pretty epic fight, either way :D

Easily soloed as a 70 Affliction Warlock.
As previously said, most ranged classes should be able to do this, but melee may have a much more difficult time doing so.

Just bring your "army" up and let them engage him. Don't worry about killing adds he spawns, or healing any NPC's. Just DPS Dimensius down.
With one person it will be a long battle so potions will be helpful.

I can confirm that standing in the hallway does work.
I don't believe it saved me from all damage, but I was not getting hit by shadow bolts he was shooting out towards the end of the fight.

While standing in the hallway I cast Unstable Affliction, Corruption, Curse of Doom, Siphon Life, and Immolate on him. Shadow bolted until a DoT needed to be refreshed. Used Imp as a mana battery, but the fight was long, so I Life Tapped and drained life to keep myself at a decent amount of health should I somehow have gotten hit hard by something.

Okay, this quest has to be bugged. It's TOO EASY! If you are a ranged class all you have to do is stay in the hallway and he can't touch you! I'm a 70 affliction lock and i did this solo and finished the fight with 100%hp and 100%mana, he didn't even kill my imp! Just stayed in the hall and dotted with CoD and Corruption, and then drainlife, shadowbolt. over, and over, and over. Fight took about 10 min all together. Easy, easy, easy. But, i'm kinda pissed, when i went to loot him, he didn't drop anything.

THERE IS NOWAY u can solo this annymore without self healing , in 3 minits he kills all npcs and starts to shoot 1000s and 2000s bolt of shadow on u
no matter were u stand serious bring in a tank or something + healer then u can 3 man him.

frost mage 3 mints of shooting 960 spell power 30% crit had m on 30% but was impossible without npcs

Just soloed as a hunter. I have a few points in the extra range, so that possibly saved me, but i just chilled in the hallway and shot him. Took about 5 minutes to kill, hes got a bunch of health

yeah it was bugged but now its fixed. No more hallway camping 4 u O.o! anyway still not a 5-man. I did 2-man as an affliction lock and a BM hunter i had my SS up and had 2 use but we pulled through.

Solo'd no problem, three minutes and one second. He has no agro table so just open up on him, standing in the hallways does work best as when he tosses you into the air you hit the ceiling and don't fly into his range. He stays put, much like Murmur and Ragz, so just light him up with all you got and he goes down pretty quick. If he casts the occaisonal bolt at you, your helpers will heal when you hit 50% health.

if u are a healer just keep healing the captain, and you can eat/drink whenever you please as long as you are far back enough to recharge mana - he will randomly hit you with bolts but its nothing you shouldnt be able to handle as a 70, did easily as a holy pally

I don't really see how this is soloable without tons of blue/epic gear, but whatever.

It CAN be two-man'd tho. DId it this morning with myself (Prot Warrior) and a Resto Druid. Just keep the NPC Ethereal alive and he's all the DPS you'll need.

Oh, and kill the annoying adds that shoot the boss with purple beams. I think they heal... or some other kind of effect. Not sure, but it took a VERY long time to get him down... about 8 mins... and the majority of that was before I started attacking the adds. He's got 200k health, so come prepared for a beefy battle.

The is absolutely fantastic for Tanks. It's practically a talented Shield Wall use, and it's only a 2min cooldown.

i just soloed it, np as a 70 spriest, i stood right beside one his adds, np. took forever, had to use fiend and 2 mana pots and of course vamp embrace, never came close to dying.

Soloed as a holy pala. Here's hwo it goes:

-start the event
-hit him with exorcism
-close the game
-switch to your lv70 warlock (if you got one^^)
-bring him down to ~2% or 3%
-close the game
-log on your paladin (in my case)
-attack him and wait until your character (warlock in my case) gets disappeared
-and voila: he's tagged for you again
-finish him off with exorcism/hammer of wrath

Solo Demo Lock, no minion. Had 2 friendlys left at the end. I didn't stay in the hall way, the 2 friendlys heald aggro and I never got hit. I put a bandage on one of them just to see but he must have had a large amout of health becaus i raised his hp maybe 4%. It must have been bugged, from the other posts I have read this should have been harder...

Droped 4 Motes of mana.

too easy! afflic lock, just dotted, drain life, dark pact and life tap when low on mana. had fel hunter out at first but died so summoned imp via fel domination. he killed the others at like 50% health or something. He barely hurt me, i would drain life faster than he could hurt me. He liked to take his time between casts though. He must have waited like 5-6 seconds before starting next cast.

for those of you that say you solo this well I'm a 70 prot warrior and I have to say to you Now way in hell did you solo this guys he has massive shadow damge and hits hard as hell .

I also have a 70 balanced druid and tryed to down him Yea Right he owned me killed my treants with in 15 second's of casting forice of Nature spell and he is emunne to roots.
even with the capitan and his group Helping with you on the qwest this is a 5 man group with the capitan and his crew helping you in the fight killed my warrior with in 60 second of fight and tank has 12 1/2 k stam and over 14 k armor.

the only Class I think that would even have a chance of soloing him just may be a lock dont know yet since my lock is only lvl 67 demondology spec;ed I'll have to wait till 70 before i even try . but if you say you did well it's in my appenion you didn"t oh and for those of you looking for the capitan and his crew they are the group of guys to the right of the guy that gives you the qwest talk to the capitan and he will lead you up the hill and in to the forge where boss spawns then the capitan summons the boss to kill and he helps you in the fight so you must talk to him to start qwest in to action I'll let you know who my lock dose when he's 70

As already stated, only takes 2 people to do this quest. One person just has to keep him in combat while the other gets the etherals a second time.

As Teraghull & Zalasana have already mentioned, it is possible to solo him, with spells (Damaging ones with a long range) or a ranged weapon.

Casters & Hunters have no worries about this, just keep your pet (Warlock & Hunters) dismissed (They'll die, I PROMISE YOU - Exception of a Warlock's Imp, possibly a Hunter using a flying snake )

Anyway, DO NOT FEAR, talk to the captain, tell him you're ready (The second time), let them run in, start the fight, BUT DON'T GO INTO THE ROOM WITH DIMENSIUS IN, if you look on the floor in the corridor that connects to the main room, you'll see a red bar on the floor (Like a marker at the very end) DON'T PASS THIS MARK, HE CAN HIT YOU, just stand there and hurl spells/ranged ammunition at him and watch him fall. Don't worry about the spawns either, as a side positive the Ethereal's should last a decent length in the fight.

As for non-casters/non auto-shot capable rangers, this could take a longer while, I personally did this on my Hunter, so I don't know how long it'll take, but yeah, you could be looking at a long while.

Eitherway, that is how you solo the quest - Enjoy your item & reward (Or your easy 20G Reward at level 70!)

If the npc attackers die, just have someone go back outside to where you first started from and send them back up the mountain. Make sure someone keeps the mob aggroed. This could be a overlooked bug for now. I first noticed it when I sent up the npcs and alliance was already fighting him.

kill the adds when he calls them in... no need to tank just nukefight, if many dies you can hide out of Line of Sight in one of the hallways but still keep him in combat:)
corpserun and continue fight:p

(4/5 died and our healer found out he could hide there, the deadd of us corpseran and nuked him, the etherals was allready dead ofc)

You can solo him! As Teraghull mentioned, you can hide in the hallways without him evading. So this plus a lot of time results in dead Dimensius and completed quest! Of course a heap of mana pots boost the fight a bit..

Oh. And don't do it during rush hour. It might result in a pile of angry people waiting half an hour while you do it! ._.
