As of right now, the totem actually only reduces the mana cost by 13 points, I noticed it while comparing it just out of curiosity. I opened up a GM ticket about it and the GM told me that it was a known issue and that they were working on fixing it.

An interesting note about this Totem. If you fire Rank 1 Lightning Bolts with this, they cost zero mana.

This might be a very useful thing to know once the Crit-Clearcasting boost goes into effect with the 2.0.10 patch.

this is a quest reward from lvl 60, 15 reduced cost. there is an epic lvl 70 of the same type in shattrath city thats only 10 reduced cost...wtf?

Well.. it says lightning bolt spellS (plural).. does this mean rank 1 as well.. if so, you could, with *!@# loads of +spelldmg, kill mobs without using mana, as rank 1 Lightning bolt costs exactly 15 MP.. could any1 confirm or unconfirm?

Lower ranks of spells get a lower bonus from spell-damage, it was changed to that a couple of patches ago

Ok.. mana free spell. PRICELESS.. its a weak auto shot... More importantly, quicker casts = more crits which can equal more procs. ya ya pve dps blah blah... how about when ur oom or close to but need that last 1% b4 you lose your last 1%. As a mage I usually keep Frostbolt Rank 1 bound to a key even if it is untalented (1.5 sec cast) If it was free, id talent it and fire it like a machine gun awating clearcasting or some odd proc. A small detail like this would most likely be found by a shaman if any class, as the are (in my opinion) the most difficult class to master with 101 things to do in any given moment. The best of the best can out dps/heal and quite possibly tank as good as any other non hybrid class. Shaman Engineer/JC would be pretty intense with statues, bombs, pets... could only imagine the classes total potential output. Best part is... no shapeshifting to maintain it!

This is very useful to elemental shammies.

While raiding, say you run out of mana. With this totem, you spam rank 1 lightning bolt, which is free mana cost, therefore not interrupting full spirit mana regen. While this is occurring, you will get clearcasts, which you use the highest rank of lightning bolt on, once again, not interrupting mana regen. Because of this, you can be casting and still doing decent damage while regenerating mana.

Do not throw out this totem.

So it does infact make a free lightning bolt? sweet i'd totally use rank one to pull mobs while questing to save on mana :D (as enhancement)
