In response to mawx, this weapon isn't all too common, maybe you're lucky but generally it's a 15% chance to drop, and Smite's Reaver will drop most of the time.

Anyhow, I'd recommend this to Paladins, Shammies, Hunters, Druids and Warriors, perfect 2H Twink weapon.

If you are a feral druid this weapon is really good. Druids don't need to worry about the weapon damage or speed and chance on hit weapons like Glacial Stone won't proc while shapeshifted.

While this is a good hammer for any 2H wielder in the BG's, it will really shine on a paladin that's using it for levelling. At level 20, a Paladin specced the way most paladins are at that level will have Seal of Command, which overall does more damage the slower the weapon. This is the slowest VC drop and the highest DPS, therefore it pumps out a ton of damage per hit - making it perfect for SoC.

Drops from Mr. Smite in the Deadmines. Its preferably the best lvl 19 Mace, and a well known weapon among twinks.

This is usable by hunters, but I wouldn't recommend it, since Hunters gain 2AP from 1Agility, not STR, so they dont benefit from it that much.

in the end, Warrior, Paladins and Shamans would want this weapon, even if they aren't twinking :) Usable until you get the Axe from RFK.

IMO, this is the best warrior lvl 19 twink DPS weapon, Bohn's fang is nice but only adds 9 streangth whereas Smite's adds 11. I recomend not using this when going for flag, use a good 1h wep and a good shield with plenty of stam./def.

as for patch 2.3 shammys can use 2h ed wepon ( no need for spec) wich makes this really great for shammys too pretty rare drop though runned DM maby 7 times never seen it

This is a very good weapon for a druid in their lvl 20s. I know because i have it and the agility and strength make a great contribution to a feral cat druid.

lol for the people who are like zomg 100% to drop, 50% to drop, the best shown is about 16%, and thats not totally accurate. the number of times he has been killed is recorded by a mod that people have that tracks everything they kill, all the loot that drops, everything that basically happens in game and uses the information to update this site. so, take the most accurate one, he has been killed 14861 recorded times, and 2416 times he dropped this mace. their math came out to 16.3% chance to drop by the info they recieved.

dont look at 100% chance to drop and smile at your great luck.

When I was a wee little Paladin of 19, this dropped. Aye, I crapped mah pants and we agreed I could Need it.
Now here comes the Ninja Loot, Leeroy Style.
The Rogue in our group is AFK. Everyone passed but me and her. I hit Need with the group leader's permission. We're waiting for the Rogue to come back... she does, and hits Need saying, "HOLY CRAP I COULD USE THIS FOR MY DRUID!"

Sorry, lost in angry thoughts. The Warlock and Priest in our group start yelling at her claiming its BoP and Elliot's. She keeps saying she needed it for her Alt. The Group leader explains that actual group mates come before Alts, boots her out of the party. Atleast the Warlock got the Emberstone Staff, Priest got Cookie's Wand, and Hunter finished his Defias set. My group mates came out happy. >_>

However, if you are a low-level feral druid, and read this, you roll NEED.

A paladin can get verigan's from questing; wingblade is also doable questwise.

But try to find another weapon, at this level, that is just so outright awesome for a feral cat or bear, due to the speed changes for attack rates.

Anyone who has a lv19 twink (warrior) or thinking of making one might want to read this. So yeah, like the title says, i wanted to find out which weapon would be good to use when in lv19 BG. I wanted to find a weapon that had good damage while having some good stats, too. So, i narrowed it down to 4 weapons:

Well, I am a 19 twink on sylvanas (Jarbo) Anyway, I got Night reaver and Smites. After my oppinion, smites is causing the biggest dmg. I know that night reaver got better speed, dps and the procc, witch appers 1 time evry fight. Now I havnent enchanted Night reaver, and only got 5dmg+ on smites, but but smites normally do 90-100 white dmg and around 135 heroic strike.Compared with night reaver, that normally does around 80-95 white dmg, and 110 heroic strike. Now, I know some of the reason is because of my 5dmg + on smites, but the dmg diffrence were the same when I didnt have enchanted smites. But that was just my oppinion. Im not sure if this is correct, but it hopefully is.

I have a 19 twink warrior on Skywall named Zargoth. Here are the weps I use ..for 1hands I sport a Shadowfang/LS (w/ redbeards crest) and for 2h I use this hammer. I could have chosen between this or Night Reaver (I had no xp for Glacial Stone) And I realized I would prefer the stats on Smite's over the Night Reaver's uncommon proc. Smite's has only around 1 less dps but has higher end damage and is only .2 slower. I slapped a Crusader on mine and I have had a 385 WHITE crit with the proc( Have had a 350 heroic strike crit but could probably go over 400 Im hoping ). I believe crusader is also the best choice for this if you are up against dodge rogues ( up to 290 Overpower crits ) when it procs. The higher end damage only increases the amount of damage with your crits, which is EXTREMELY useful in 19 BGS to get rid of some unwanted adversaries ( ESPECIALLY rogues). Smite's mighty hammer is better than night reaver Beacuse night reaver have an shown dps on 20,6 and it's speed is 3,30. Smite's mighty have an hidden dps in the 11 str beacuse that gives 22 att power and 22 att power gives 1,6 dps that means smite's mighty hammer have 21,3 dps! its 0,7 over night. The speed on smite's are 3,6 or something but thats good, beacuse if u slap crusader on the chance for the holy strenght come is bigger, were night reaver has the 3,3, means the proc got lower chance. Glacial stone got the highest shown dps but smite's are higher, anyway i would say the glacial is est if u count the proc with, but theres only 14% for that proc or somethig so, smite's mighty hammer is best most of the time xD ... To twinks ^^

I was curious about how exactly attack power affects performance in combat, so I checked and discovered that every 14 attack power increases one's raw dps by 1 point. I ventured further and discovered that different classes acquire attack power differently. I decided to post how much Smite's Mighty Hammer (for example) helps any individual class that can use it using WoWWiki's Formulas here.

Smite's Mighty Hammer has a DPS of 19.7, STR of 11, and AGI of 4.

Then, following the formulas in the site above, the damage per second provided by Smite's Mighty Hammer for a level 19 is as follows:

Druid (Humanoid Form): 21.27 DPS
Druid (Bear Form): 1.57 DPS
Druid (Cat Form): 1.86 DPS
Paladin: 21.27 DPS
Shaman: 21.27 DPS
Warrior: 21.27 DPS

In addition, Shamans, Warriors, and Shapeshifted Druids gain a boost due to their level, the DPS including that is as follows:

Druid (Bear Form): 4.07
Warrior: 4.07
Druid (Cat Form): 2.71
Shaman: 2.71

Now that I've done that, I think I'll compare those DPSes with some of the competing "Twink Items."

Night Reaver

Night Reaver has no increase in Str or Agi, so the DPS gained from it is only the "raw dps", the dps from the added shadow damage, and that to be had from the proc. The raw dps is 20.6 and the shadow damage on average increases the damage by .91, bringing the total to 21.51. Now, since the rate at which the proc occurs is unknown, I'll list the weapon's dps at various proc rates.

If the weapon procs once every 5 strikes (20%), than the average dps becomes: 26.05
Once every 7 strikes (14%): 24.75
Once every 10 strikes (10%): 23.78
Once every 20 strikes (5%): 22.64
Once every 30 strikes (3.3%): 22.26

I really have no idea how frequent this is, if anyone can tell me it would be greatly appreciated.

Glacial Stone

Glacial Stone, while having a solid raw dps, has the same issue as Night Reaver in that it has an indefinite proc rate. So, I have to use the same method for Glacial Stone as I did with Night Reaver. The funny thing, however, is since Glacial Stone has a greater delay, the set damage is actually somewhat less than the average damage of the Night Reaver. So while the Night Reaver can go either direction, over the long run it will deal more damage from procs.

If the weapon procs once every 5 strikes (20%): 25.17
Once every 7 strikes (14%): 23.98
Once every 10 strikes (10%): 23.08
Once every 20 strikes (5%): 22.04
Once every 30 strikes (3.3%): 21.69

So, all other things equal, it seems that even if the rate at which the two weapons proc is abyssal, they are still a good deal better than Smite's Mighty Hammer.

This is a great weapon that is targeted for hunters, and warriors, hunters need agil and they need melee, i mean a rogue IS going to melee them along wit warriors charging, so people say that taskmaster is better cuz of spirit, but my GOD, wat hunter EVER needs to drink water to reg their mana, NEVER at level 19! But i for one am a dwarf warrior and think that axes are COOLER on dwarves so i take taskmaster axe, plus i get health reg with the +8 spirit and for those who complain about no agil, just get a +15 agiL enchant!

Hunters don't use maces :)

I got this mace today on my lvl 10 warrior (now 11) some 66 warlock was bored and was running people vc and i got a lot of good drops ncluding this im making my warrior a 49 twink :D

I hunted this thing forever when I was around level 16. Now that I'm 46 and looking back, its stupid that I was so obsessed with getting it. So if your hunting it and can't get it, just remember that there will be a better blue in 5 or 10 levels

I had a draenei warrior named Tubaloth in the 19s but decided to lvl him to 39... he had Glacial Stone w/ sader. now I'm lvling another warrior to 19, named Buquethead(pronounced buckethead) and had night reaver but got smites last night, i think ill use smites cause it has the stats over the little proc and it hits a lot harder. if there is any fancy math, respond lol

i got this hamer a coupple of days ago for my lvl 19 warr twink, took about 18 run's i slapped icy enchant on. some guy gave it to me for only 10g so i agreed. it's an ok weapon for warriors crits about 200-400 most of the time. but wery sloow

I'd say this is better than Night Reaver because -

Smite's Mighty Hammer gives +11 strength
Night Reaver gives nothing

1 Strength = 2 attack power
14 Attack power = 1 DPS

Smite's Mighty Hammer has 19.7 dps
Night reaver has 20.6
11 strength = 22 attack power = 1.5 dps.
So therefore Smite's Mighty Hammer gives 21.2 dps.

SO it's better than Night Reaver.

proc dmg? Twink is usually for PvP if I am not wrong. Although proc is nice when it happens, I'm not going to factor it in to my DPS since I MIGHT see it on every other fight or more. It's not a consistant variable even if you try to average it in. I'll take the base+stats for a solid and consistant DPS value over base+procs DPS average anyday.

Far and away the best weapon a Lv 18-19 Warrior can find. For its level, the burst damage is insane. Forget about dual wielding Cruel Barb, you'll need much better equipment for Fury, which you won't find at Lv 19.

Drops from Mr. Smite the tauren named mob in the Deadmines instance. When you attempt this mob be prepared for a scripted encounter in which he AE stuns everyone and shouts some audio lines and attacks for a bit harder. Also watch out for his 2 guards that are invis at the bottom of the steps before you pull him.

During his scripted event things he will go to a chest and grab different types of weapons and depending at which point u kill him and what weapon he is using at the time u will get that weapon. This hammer is the 3rd time he goes to the chest for and the last.

So I'm tossing up wether to run Deadmines for this hammer, when I've got a Night Reaver waiting for me in the bank for my 19 Warrior.

Because of the stats on this thing I'm thinking it may be a little better.. its a little slower meaning higher top-end damage than the Night Reaver, and although it doesn't have a chance-on-hit effect I think those stats more than make up for it.

Suggestions?

I'm wondering whether I should enchant this with crusader or +15 strength. The str enchant would help with the general dps while crusader will help with burst, only problem with that is the low attack speed so I would assume less crusader procs.

Any thoughts?

I belive that the axe is better for a paladin (having the sprit +), and that the hammer is better for a warrior (having the big Strenght +)

My lvl 43 hunter has run my friend's 19 warrior twink through Deadmines close to 10 times, and Smite still hasn't dropped this nice weapon.

Of course, when his 60 druid ran my 19 rogue twink through, it dropped. Useless for me, though.

Not if you kill him quick enough!
Me = 60 Feral Druid helping out guildies alts do a quest run for van clef, he died before going to his chest for the first time, the audio still played though with speech coming up from his corpse.

This thing is literally game changing. I just got it my first DM run on my DPS pally and now I'm doing more than double the damage before I got it. I wouldn't recommend waisting too much time running for it, but if you get a drop with in 5 runs it's an amazing step up
