Cristal imprégné est un objet qui peut s'obtenir dans plusieurs donjons. Il s'agit d'un des objectifs de Écumeur de donjons de Sombrelune et a fortiori de Spoliateur de Sombrelune. N'oubliez pas que la possession d'un Guide pratique de Sombrelune est obligatoire, sans ce dernier il est impossible de looter cet artéfact.

juste pour information, Ebores, ils ont peut etre changé les conditions, parce que je suis a monastere avec mon lvl 85 pour farmer du tissus, et je loot ca, donc je pense qu'on peut toujours quand on n'est pas du même niveau

This quest is do-able once every Darkmoon Faire (alas, every month). It can be aquired as long as you've got Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide in your backpack, and can still drop regardless if Darkmoon Faire is currently active or not.

Please keep in mind that the quest is not repeatable during one DMF festival. After you complete the quest you cannot get it for the second time, as it states when you use an item for the second time "You have already completed this quest". In other words - you can do the quest once every month.
Now, to all the naysayers, Blizzard has confirmed that these quests are to be repeated each month. Source
They have also stated that the quest drops that happen in the dungeons/raids/BG’s happen all the time, even if the faire isn’t in town. Source

Dropped off High Inquisitor Whitemane in Scarlet Monastery - Cathedral on my level 85. It dropped on my 2nd run, don't expect to have a 100% drop rate.

High level characters can keep resetting the instance to farm it. A good alternative to running 85 instances.

Edit: Drop rate has probably been level appropriated. There is no use farming SM if you're 85.

if you have multiples and plan to sell the extras be careful when turning them in. The quest took both of the ones in my bag for this item. None of the other turn ins have done this to me so far

just did 5 Taragaman kills in RFC on my lvl 85 hunter... no drops at all did they hot fix since the book sais something about apropriately challenging ?
nvm just got one quest item of Gazrilla in ZG and one from Arcanist Doan in SM guess i just had bad droprate :)
worth mentioning SM counts as one dungeon i think with its diffrent parts... and since 3 diffrent tokens drop in there you can farm 3 tokens per reset... considering the dungeon lock out when you entered to many in to short time it might be a very good place to farm, if you run Library for Doan, Armory for Herod then Cathedral for Whitemane and then reset you get 3 dungeons on one reset :)

What is this? This item Cristal imprégné starts the quest that you can turn in with the Darkmoon Faire whenever it is in town.

How do I get it? In order to be eligible to loot this, you must have the Guide pratique de Sombrelune in your ~~bags~~ inventory - which can be obtained in one of two ways:

Receive it as a reward from Gelvas Grimegate after completing The Darkmoon Faire for Alliance or The Darkmoon Faire for Horde.
Receive it from Selina Dourman just by talking to her, she stands at the first tent on the left-side of the entrance to the Darkmoon Faire.
Note: if you have The Darkmoon Faire quest in your quest log, Selina will not offer to give you the guide - you will either need to drop the quest and speak to her again or simply hand in at which point you get the guide anyway.

Where do I get it? Cristal imprégné seems to drop various level-appropriate 5-man dungeon bosses. Drop locations will continue to be updated as they are confirmed:

Why do I want it? There are several reasons that you may want this item:

Receive 10 Darkmoon Prize Tickets upon handing it in - these tickets allow you to purchase mounts, pets and other collectibles whenever the Darkmoon Faire is on.
Receive 250 reputation (or more depending on your racial/guild bonuses etc) with the Darkmoon Faire - great for anyone who is either a rep junkie or is working towards The Insane title awarded by the Insane in the Membrane achievement.
Having completed the quest that this item starts will count towards the achievement Darkmoon Despoiler.
Gold gold GOLD - since this item isn't BoP (bind on pickup), it is tradable and sellable via the auction house. If you don't care about the above three points, then you can profiteer from someone who does!

What else do I need to know?

High level characters ~~can no longer~~ are not supposed to be able to farm lower level dungeons for this one since a recent hotfix. This should now only obtainable in level-appropriate dungeons (though there continue to be reports of 85s picking up Cristal imprégné in Scarlet Monastery in particular), and as always, success is at the mercy of RNG.
The quest can only be turned in once per Darkmoon Faire. You can certainly collect more of these, however if you've turned in for the current faire, you'll have to wait till it's next in town.
This item can be looted anytime - that is to say, the Darkmoon Faire does not have to be currently on in order for you to be able to find these puppies.

They might have changed the droprates or not, it took me 13 or 14 runs in SM: Cath to get the Imbued crystal, however i got it! So don't give up and think it's bugged like i did :P It's just not a guarranteed spawn.

Also while doing that u can put on a tabard of any of your main cities, just a tip for some free rep!

I'm currently running RFC to see if Taragaman still drops the crystal, as I heard rumors that Blizzard would be hotfixing the drops to drop only when you are in an appropriate level dungeon. Will report back when I have more to share.

Edit: Did several runs of RFC, then went and ran undead Stratholme several times to see if items would drop there. Had no drops in either instance. It seems that Blizzard has indeed changed the items to drop only in level specific instances and battlegrounds.

During the current (2nd) DMF, I must have ran RFC about 50 times with my lvl 85 toon, no DMF artifact drops of any kind.
I also farmed SM, all 4 instances (about 20 runs) with the same toon, nada....

As of the second Darkmoon Faire (Jan 1st), we are unable to farm the Darkmoon Dungeon quest items from low level instances so as a level 85, with this change/bugfix in mind, here's a compiled list of all the info you need to know for level 85 characters; if you are lower than level 85, other instances may be a better choice for you and more information may be found in other comments.

Firstly, to get any of these items to drop, you will need the Guide pratique de Sombrelune obtained from the introductory quest "The Darkmoon Faire" H A which is located in Orgrimmar and Stormwind, respectively, or pick it up from Selina Dourman, who stands at the left-side of the entrance to Darkmoon Faire. You can only get the Guide pratique de Sombrelune during the Faire but all the quest items can always drop, regardless of the Faire being on or not. The drop chance is quite low, roughly 15% and everyone who has the guide will be able to roll greed but not need.

Secondly, all of the items are BoE so can be traded with other players if you can't manage to pick up every item before the Faire ends or want to pocket some cash/give to a friend (These can be thrown in gift wrapping). Incidentally, all of the quest items can be handed in once per month (they're consumed when you hand it in), so you might want to stock these up if you're having lucky drops - sometimes you can get really unlucky and not get anything for a while!

Most importantly, the rewards: You can either sell them for a fair amount of gold to another player as these are quite desirable or hand them in for 250 DMF rep, some gold and varying amounts of tickets.Cristal imprégné,Oeuf monstrueux,Grimoire mystérieux and Arme ornée give 10 tickets each, and can drop from any dungeon level 76-85 (for level 85s). Un traité sur la stratégie gives 15 tickets but only drops from level 85 heroics. Together, these 5 give you Écumeur de donjons de Sombrelune. Insigne capturé, Bannière des trépassés and Journal d’aventurier défunt give 5 tickets each and are obtained from looting the insignias of enemies in Battlegrounds. Together, these three give Darkmoon Defender. Runes de devin gives 10 tickets and drops from certain level 85 raid bosses. All together, these give Spoliateur de Sombrelune, 2250 DMF rep and 80 tickets.

Most of this information is now outdated. Official word is Monstrous Egg, Mysterious Grimoire, Imbued Crystal, and Ornate Weapon, do not drop for high level characters anymore.

1. This was a bug that is being hotfixed. A character that is not level-appropriate for a dungeon should not get Monstrous Egg, Mysterious Grimoire, Imbued Crystal, or Ornate Weapon drops. This is irrespective of whether or not the character has a Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide in her bags.

2. & 3. We previously had an issue where Grisly Trophy was only going to the player who recorded the killing blow. They are now distributed randomly. Furthermore, there were previously cases where all of the artifacts listed above could be rolled Need. That has been hotfixed and they are all now flagged Greed-only.

4. Regarding drop rates, these items are dropping as-intended. They are rare, and the quests and achievements that depend on them are intended to take some time to complete. They're comparable to the Darkmoon decks and cards. We made them tradeable, so that players who experience a run of bad luck can still acquire what they're after by trading with friends or buying them on the auction house.

IDK why it States raids, I raided DS & FL 2 weeks in a row now , & havent seen one drop in our 25M runz serval player have the guide in bags & THIS ITEM refuses to drop from raid Blizz need hotfix there tool tip, as it states Dungoens, battle-grounds & raid s. Updated for mop and it looks like there are no drops in . According to the wowhead, Un traité sur la stratégie drops in heroic mode, and the other items drop in normal modes off the respective boss. I.e.: Arme ornée drops in normal and not heroic.

I've compiled a easy to see table of where each item for Écumeur de donjons de Sombrelune can be found to get the most bang for your regular/heroic dungeon queues since Blizzard "fixed" the drops so that Foire de Sombrelune monthly quest items can only be looted in level appropriate dungeons. This is ordered in alphabetical order, with the instances that drops the most items for DMF items towards the top.

Notes:
I'm keeping the level 80 and 85 data for people who have not upgraded from the Battlechest and Cata to MoP.
If you find that a boss drops something not listed here. Leave a reply and I'll add it in, eventually.

Despite the hotfix for "Level Appropriate Dungeons" dropping this so 85's can't farm low level dungeons (read this after going out to farm this week), I still got an Imbued Crystal off High Inquisitor Whitemane on my 85 Mage.

So don't discount the lower dungeons just yet, RNG may just hate most people. Keep at it! (2 more pets to go!)

While these items do not drop for players of inappropriate level anymore, they easily can be farmed with low level friend you can trust. Just quickly kill everything for him and let him loot bosses. Darkmoon items will drop from bosses now and while you can't loot them, your friend can! Since these items are BOE, he can just give them to you after looting.

As an 85 hunter farming cloth for Steamwheedle Cartel rep I can confirm that they DO drop from SM Cathedral. Have had 3 drop while farming cloth.

I just ran Scarlet Monastery Cathedral 3 times with 2 of my 85s (farming mog gear) and had it drop twice off Whitemane. I was very surprised because I thought you couldn't get any DMF items from non-level appropriate bosses anymore, since it was patched. Either they missed some, reversed the patch change, or it's just not working as intended.

So this dropped twice from Whitemane while I (Level 85) was boosting a friend (Level 35) through Scarlet Monastery. I would say maybe bring a level appropriate friend with you if it doesn't drop for you alone.

Farming for this at lvl 85 to hand out to my alts, I make five runs (the maximum resets allowed in that short a span) and my average is one Imbued Crystal per five runs. Every so often I get two and never three...yet.

EDIT: High Inquisitor Whitemane is the npc that drops it and it takes less than 10 minutes to make five runs if you're only looting for the Imbued Crystal.

2nd Edit: Gardevoir is right; it must be fortune, because I just went 20 runs w/o a single drop. Maybe the drop cycles through the NPCs that have it.

Out of 15 runs (I've been farming Silk Cloth for my priest's tailoring), I've gotten 9 of these.
Either I have been extremely fortunate, or the drop rate on Inquistitor Highmane is a lot higher than 4%.
If you want to farm these, I HIGHLY suggest farming her.
